Dr. Gary Edwin Quinby, MD

Kindest, most caring doctor I have ever had. Excellent care from him and his staff.

I saw Dr.Quinby for my acne in my teen years. On one particular appointment one of his CNA's made me cry by continuously telling me how "bad" my acne was. When doctor Quinby finally came to the examination room and saw me in tears, he further disrespected and upset me by telling me that I may need to see a psychiatrist for my emotional outburst. He also was very adamant about having me take Accutane which I did not want to take. After this appointment I felt so self conscious and humiliated. I never wanted to go back to his office again. I ended up going to another dermatologist who helped me clear my acne within weeks. Dr. Quinby did not seem to have a strong background in this area of dermatology, and does not understand hormonal acne. My recommendation is go to another dermatologist.

I was diagnosed with melanoma cancer and had surgery in 7 locations on my body and was referred to this Dr. by my oncologist. My nodes came back clear and removals precancerous in previous surgery. He did not review my previous body photos taken by my Dr. He did look me over thoroughly and proceeded to tell me nothing looked suspicious or needed to be removed. When we tried to discuss that I had normal looking moles all come back severely precancerous previously, he must have had his ego button pushed. He proceeded to inform me he was writing a letter to my health care providers and placing in my medical file stating any further removals would be cosmetic in nature. This impacts insurance coverage and he knows it. I heard the staff laughing as they discussed me outside the door. My husband was along and we both could not believe how we were treated. Just. Don't. Go. If you have serious issues, like previous cancer. Egotistical, interupted every sentence I attempted to get… out of my mouth. Outrageous.

I was recommended to him by a friend and he was really helpful and polite treated me very well even though he wasn't taking anymore patients he seen me and his staff was truly the nicest I've ever been around

I found that I was scolded about something that we had talked about in the past. I was give no notes from my file to remind me, so why the scolding. He needs to lighten up and remember who is paying the bill.I also needed to get in for an acute issue, would be nice to get there before it progressed, I had to keep calling back. Might help to leave a few same day appts available for such cases.

Overall experience with diagnosis, procedures and care has been very good. After being a patient for over five years, still difficult to get an emergency appointment. Dr. seems rushed during aftercare visits and sometimes does not answer question thoroughly. Nice man but very, very busy.

He was a great dermotologist and exactly who I was looking for. I highly recommend Dr. Quinby!

I asked specifically the cost of a cosmetic procedure and was quoted a price. Bill came with a significant upcharge. It's not that difficult to give patients a straight answer about the cost of a procedure. If you don't pay I'm sure they'll try to ruin your credit rating. Only recourse is small calims court. Heaven knows how much they bill insurance companies when the patient isn't looking!
