Dr. Gary Lloyd Reasor, MD

Dr. Reasor is a good physician, but his office is impossible. You can never get a hold of anyone accept the answering service and they can't help you. When you do finally get a hold of anyone they are rude, frequently insult the patients, and break HIPAA laws. Also, be prepared to be hung up on. If you can avoid metro pain associates, I suggest you do because it is not worth it.

I know I am limited on words so I'll do my best. I first saw him when his practice was small. 2006 I think. A month later I had my first pain pump. Now 2019(2020) I have had three different pumps and 6 problems with the catheters.Like I said limited. 2nd new pump none of his 2 nurses could put the medicine in the pump. Dr. comes in took bigger needle and pulled out at least 5ccs of this thick yellowish green liquid and then tried to put med back in and overdosed me.I almost died. They made my stepson leave. (he was with me and was watching all of this). When I started to go out Dr made him leave. He went to the car and took a really long nap. They threw me into a wheelchair and RAN to the ER. 3 days later I woke up. Dr. Reasor said he was waiting for the lab to tell him what that stuff was. Out of hospital and home went to F/U I asked about the lab Dr Reasor said that the lab told him they didn't know what it was. From the start was using po pain meds. 4years ago some very… close to me was not gonna be with us much longer (3 months). So I gave them my pain pills when they asked for them. I failed 2, two, 2 pee test . Never told me why I couldn't have them anymore. I have not seen him in 4years . When I ask the nurse they just look at me and shake their heads. 2 nurses knew that he never called ER's back and made me sound like a really bad person. So my pump isn't working can't fix it till 3 months from now and NO ,ZERO, 0 pain medication. I'm stuck at least for now.

Sorry, 0 stars was not an option. Sitting in a waiting room can be quite informative. It seems like when you need a treatment for chronic pain, then you need....tada! A pain pump! Yep, I will charge your insurance $1,500 a visit to refill that pain pump with the opiod of my choice. Of course, you will need a $9,000 surgery to have it implanted. Now, he will not see you for years, you only see jpyour pump nurse. Of course, when you have to go to the meeting with the representative from the pain pump manufacturer, they will lie and tell you that you will only have to go for a pump refill every 3 months. Absolutely a lie. Actually, Dr. Reasor's staff could order a higher dosage of your pump meds, but why should he do that? He wants the money mill to keep churning, bringing in that moola so he can cavort in France. Additionally, do not be swayed by his ''Top Doc'' status. Louisville Magazine gives that award to physicians based on opinions from their peers. What a joke! … Yep, all my golf buddies are top docs...the magazine gives this ''prestigious'' award to up to 28 doctors, upon a cursory study, for one specialty. Try asking patients! Additionally, most of the doctors are affiliated with Norton's, Kentucky One or U of L. Coincidence? I do not think so. If you really need help for your chronic pain management, I would advise you steer clear of Dr. Gary Reasor of Metro Pain Associates. You need learned, compassionate care, not someone who tries to impose his religious, Mormon beliefs on you. Run, do not walk, run or you will rue the day you did not. I wish someone had told me.

He saved my life

I had a pain pump replacement from Dr Reasor and within 30 days the area burst. I found out there was MRSA in the area this included my spine. By the grace of God, my infectious disease doctor saved me. Be careful, they also gave me way too much pain meds.

I was injured on the job in 2004 with no relief from anything or any procedure, and not even surgery as an option because I had nerve damage to the sciatica down the back of the left leg. 2nd injury to same nerve. Dr. Reasor suggested the Spinal Cord Stimulator and I said yes praying it would help me. It was implanted in my hip and the relief was amazing. I still have it and still I am amazed at how it can give me so much relief, Dr. Reasor gave me my life back when I felt like there was no hope, he and his staff are amazingly awesome, wonderful team. The office staff is nasty, I can't even get an appointment and in pain. I have all of my records and disks in hand including my referral but that wasn't good enough. Now they want notes from my primary care and my demographics which by the way was on my referral and my mri reports. So ridiculous. I'm beginning to think that they won't help because of my husbands retired military insurance. Which I have ran into before.

If not for Dr Reasor and his staff I would not be able to anything but remain in the recliner. I'm into the 6th with this practice and thank God for them. Their caring, their concern, their empathy and compassion for people in pain is awesome.

He listens. He questions. I like him a great deal.
