This doctor has zero bedside manner. My 78 year old mother who was severely dehydrated with blood pressure through the roof (220/100) went to the er at a local hospital, and dr russell was the hospitalist at the time. He was reluctant to accept her and admit her, even after the ed doctor recommended it because according to him she " didnt meet the criteria. My mom eventually did get admitted, only to call my 85 year old father a few hours later, asking him to come pick her up from the hospital, because dr russell bullied her into signing out after explaining to her that since her presentation of symptoms did not meet the "criteria", her insurance may not pay for her stay. My mom needless to say left the hospital shortly after. He cornered her, on her room, at 8:30 at night to tell her this, after no one had seen him all day long. And he conveniently did all of this when none of my family members were there. The way my mother was treated at his hand is a disgrace. Simply disgusting. … Not to mention, on any given day, there may be one single inpatient in this entire hospital. So tell me, what is the criteria for an admission to the hospital, if a 78 year old woman with severe weakness and dehydration obviously doesnt fit the profile? Needless to say, I will be on the phone with the hospitals patient advocate first thing tomorrow morning.

Dr Russel and his staff provide excellent medical and bureaucratic support. It is easy to get an appointment, The medical quality of service is excellent and everyone is courteous.
