Dr. Gary Leonard Simon, MD

Dr Simon treated me before and during and after surgery from a very infectious staff infection abscess. He is a top rate Dr and he was on top of all my needs and had a top staff and all kept me well informed . One of his staff members and his team Sat down and drew a drawing of the area in my back that was infected keeping me well informed . I give this Dr and his team 5 stars . Thank you. Tom Lyons

I have been a patient of Dr. Simon's for 20+ years. He is an excellent physician and, with both a PHD and MD, is extremely competent regarding infectious diseases. A couple of reviews on this website are negative, apparently due to beside manner. He doesn't coddle his patients, but he cares very much about his patients and cares about getting the meds exactly right, which is the most important thing when treating HIV and other infectious diseases. If you want someone to hold your hand, perhaps you should go somewhere else. However, if you want one of the most competent, experienced, and knowledgeable infectious disease experts in the country, I highly recommend Dr. Simon.

Dr. Simon is without question one of the finest infectious disease physicians & researchers in the United States. He has brought me from an HIV CD4 count of 330 with a viral load of 450,000 to CD4 count of 1200 and an undetectable viral load taking one pill daily. He is kind, attentive, no nonsense and caring. I highly recommend him.

This doctor is extremely ugly. I really regret that I went to see him. I had been in his office for 2 hours, and he only spent 10 seconds speaking to me using 2 sentences. He sent his assistant to see me, but his assistant knows nothing of my disease. I left his office without receiving any advice, but waited my entire morning, and money. A patient to this doctor is just somebody who is willing to go there and pay him money. He is NOT concerned of what the patient is worried about. SAD! This is ugly doctor.

Many people had warned me that Dr. Gary Simon was arrogant. I decided to see for myself. Unfortunately they were right.Dr. Simon speaks down to patients and is very dismissive. He lacks compassion and empathy which are important characteristics for a physician.I obtained a copy of my clinic note and it was very short... just a few sentences. Clearly not much time or effort spent.GW can do better!
