Gary J. Weiss, DDS, MFS
Dr. Weiss has been a resident of the DC and Northern Virginia area since 1973, originally hailing from Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Georgetown University first in 1977 with a degree in Biology, did graduate work in Neuroanatomy and Neurochemistry, and graduated from Georgetown Dental School in 1982. During dental school, he was the chief technologist in the Neurotoxicology laboboratory for the Department of Neurology of Georgetown Hospital. After beginning his private practice in Fairfax City in 1982, he attended George Washington University on a part-time basis and graduated with a Masters Degree in Forensic Science in 1985.
Dr. Weiss has continually pursued continuing education in dentistry, honing his expertise in the facets of dentistry he provides. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society. He is a founding and life member of the World Congress of Minimally Invasive …Dentistry, promoting and educating dentists in the practice of restoring teeth with as little trauma as possible. He also holds membership in the Academy of Laser Dentistry and the Academy of Computerized Dentistry. His commitment to rising new technologies was rewarded by training positions with Kreativ, Inc., Lares Research, Inc., and DEXIS Digital X-ray Systems. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and a Board Certified Diplomate of the American College of Forensic Dentistry and Forensic Medicine. He is frequently called upon to assist the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of Virginia and is one of the founders and organizers of VERDIT (The Virginia Emergency Response Dental Identification Team). He is married, with 2 wonderful children, and is an avid hockey coach and player.
