It was my first visit with Dr. Wharton. My issue was nothing urgent but I still had questions. He comes in and is very nonchalant. He takes a look and then assures me it’s nothing. Does not ask me if I have any questions. He takes his gloves off and is basically rushing out the door. I’m still talking to him asking him questions and he is standing the doorway as if I am a huge burden to him. I’m sure he is not always like this to everyone and my issue was not urgent but I’d still like the door to be closed when I am asking personal questions. I left feeling extremely rushed and uncared for. Overall Im sure he’s nice and qualified but if your looking for a comfortable experience I would look for a different doctor.

Very thorough and caring. He did my surgery and I have never felt better.

I really enjoyed meeting the doctor and his staff. Everyone was very nice, he had a great sense of humor and bedside manner. I entrusted him with my care and surgery and he did not let me down.

Put my life and that of my unborn baby in danger at 32 weeks gestation when he would not believe that something was wrong when I presented at the ER barely able to stand up and complaining of unbearable pain, with an elevated white blood count. Then after it was determined (by an internist from RI Hospital) that I actually had appendicitis and had to have emergency surgery, he came into my room and told me that he would not believe it was appendicitis until he saw the pathology because I didn't present "classic" symptoms. Like it was all somehow my own fault that this happened. I saw the pathology. It was acute appendicitis. There was no trust and a cynicism that I was overreacting because I was pregnant.

A very professional atmosphere in which you feel well taken care of. I felt very comfortable having my surgery and was treated with respect and kindness. I would recommend this doctor to my friend and family.

After ten years with this doctor I have to say I'm very dissapointed in him. He could care less about me as a patient and does not seem the least bit interested in helping me with my problem.
