Dr. Gary Edward Wheeler

Very rude, yelled at me with family in there with me, angers easily, and goes off on a dime, I was with him 33 yrs. and finally could not take it anymore...he just started declining rapidly the past few years. Took 2 yrs to get him to check my neck, as I had a choking sensation, finally, when I took my 2 kids in with me, he said, oh, I see you have another one with you this time...I just pointed to the lump and said, I think I have lump that should not be here, he asked how did you know you have a lump, I said, I looked in the mirror.....he accused me of playing with it, after exam, sent me directly to the lab, and said, I think we have a goiter here...labs came back normal, he put me on a large does of Levothyroxine, to shrink the goiter...I became very ill. long story short, I finally learned that you cannot tell him what the problem might be, you have to be very generic in your description, then he will go into action. He still will get very angry very quickly, when I asked, did I… understand you correctly, did I not hear you say-------? then he whirled around and began yelling, NO..I DID NOT SAY THAT..and would not repeat what he said, my son in law, said, mom, that is exactly what he said...spittle was coming out of his mouth, as he was maybe 1' from my face, his face very red, and veins in his neck sticking out...I have PTSD...and that was not a good experience...and this was not the first time, I have had him do this...he went out one time to fire a girl while I was there and you could hear him all over the office...she had put the wrong chart in my room, as there were two with the same first and last name...he said, you need to go find a job somewhere else you cannot make mistakes in this field, when you make mistakes, people die. It was not a profession way to deal with this oversight. I could go on and on of experiences the past 2 + yrs. I'm just grateful to be away from him, when I left, his office sent me a letter the next day, saying they were turning me into collection for my outstanding balance of $75.00 with was actually $55.00 if I did not pay within 10 days, in full...which was well before my pay day...I had never not paid my bill, and paid this one..I would just like to see some medical board or someone observe him. He treat so many geriatric patients and they trust him..

Left his office crying... He called me a liar! Has bad bed side manner. Not just with me but has a history of having bad bed side manners with others in my family. He's rude and uncaring. I will drive out of town to see other drs than to put up with him.
