Dr. Gayathri Dasharathy, MD

I have been with Dr. Dash for more than 20+ years. She is amazing. She is the best diagnostician and the best dr. I have been too. Having moved several times I always come back to her, others try to do there own thing and it never works. Once you find a good mental health provider that knows what they are doing you don't change. So, I drive hours from another state to see her. She is a great one!!

She treated my father while in the hospital and was very good and very helpful. She was willing to do whatever was necessary to help him and the family. She was very friendly and I enjoyed working with her.

Dr. Dash is rude, haughty and abrasive her bedside manners are very poor. She acts as if she places herself above God. She is not recommended to deal with elderly patients. She does not listen. I would give her NO STARS and would not recommend her for any reason.

She is attentive to your needs.

I have been a patient of Dr. Dash for 5 years. When I came to her I was a total wreck. I have had a long history or Bipolar and Chemical addiction. I have seen probably 20 Dr.'s over the last 30 years and Dr. Dash has been a great Dr. She is not over zealous to over medicate and leave one in a zombie state. She is smart, accurate and knows her stuff. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a good Dr. who can diagnose and if needed prescribe medications as needed. She is a very busy Dr. and some people may take her approach as rude or lacking compassion, this is far from the truth. Whenever I have been in a panic state or in dire need she has immediately replied to my phone call and taken necessary action. Give her a try and not just one visit..she is a great Dr.

Doesn't ensue a sense of trust. I spent 10 minutes with her on my first visit. She's blunt which is fine for some doctors but I wanted a doctor with more compassion.

in 1996 i had a baby. Five months later, I came down with classic Postpartum depression. Absolutely worst thing in my life! Panic attacks debilitated me. I could barely drive a car. ODD! My OB Dr. Pyreck (sp?) IMMEDIATELY (within 2 hrs) sent me to Dr. Dash. She immed. correctly diagnosed me, gave me meds, (which i was VERY apprehensive to take!) and sent me off. It took one month for meds to work. But she encouraged me to keep taking them, even increasing them. I have never since or before had this sort of "mental breakdown". She did not put me through yrs of counseling which would have been a waste of time for my particular predicament. I am forever grateful to her accurate dx and med choice! I HIGHLY recommend her!!

With the loss of my husband, i started my first antidepressants ever. Regardless, complete meltdowns were frequent and most horrible. My doctor of nearly 30 years (an Internal Medicine MD) recommended I see Dr. Dasharathy right away. On the drive to my first visit, my plans were to beg for any RX that would give me relief from my terrible crying spells (and (worse yet) total meltdowns. I told myself "like there would be ANY magic RX tablet like that!" The antidepressant (Celebrex) prescribed by my internal MD helped the constant depression but not the crying and meltdowns. Dr Dasharathy listened to my dilemma, asked several questions, reviewed my current medications then prescribed the perfect RX for me (Lamactyl). I could not believe there was such a drug. i am NOT groping around like a zombie (one of my biggest fears with new depression meds) and I thank the Lord for Dr. Dasharathy every, every day. I am worlds better because of her care.

my 80 yr old mom has been under the care of two different geriatric psychiatrists and Dr. Dash has helped her immensely. we still have work ahead but mom is doing much better so far under Dr. Dash' care. We will comment on office visits later since mom is currently an inpatient.

I have a disorder of brain circuits likely caused by electrical processes and shaped by a complex interplay of genetics and life experiences. It was Dr. Dash that made me realize that. She has a direct manner about her that I apprecieate. No bullshi##ing her! She is very smart and knows her patients well, even after a few visits.
