Summary
In my 35-year career as an Orthopedic Manual Therapist, treating spine problems has always been of special interest to me. As I progressed through different treatment approaches as a Manual Therapist (Cyriax, McKenzie, Maitland, Grimsby, Graston and tendon dry needling), I developed my own ‘style’ of rehabilitation, which is based on four essential pillars. Every successful rehabilitation outcome needs these four components: 1. thorough evaluation focused on discovering what movements/positions and joint/soft tissue mobilizations affect the symptoms. 2. allowing your body to self-heal through application of mechanical therapy, manual therapy, dry needling and taping. 3. retraining the muscles in the spine to support the joints in order to avoid a relapse. 4. patient education on their condition and prevention so they can help themselves in the future.
