Dr. Gene Lawrence Hawkins, MD

Dr was so patient with me, listen to me,after having chalanges with other doctor. trys to figure out the origin of my problem or pain. He joins the puzzle to my visit. Looking at it from the root. High card for his patience. Without insisting nor opposing on treatment.

Nice, quiet spoken person but does not listen.

He is always considerate, polite, and patient. He explains my medical information in language I always understand. His front office staff is very polite and professional. I am glad a friend of mine referred me to him.

Unfortunately, I just found out the Dr. Gene Hawkins had moved. He didn't notify any of his patients and being on medication that requires his authorization every 6 months made it hard to get a refill. This is not the type of medication you can just stop. I tried calling his office but his medical staff kept playing games and said they would call me, but never did, they also told me to have the pharmacy fax over the refill order, which they did for the last 6 days and no response. What kind of Doctor's office does this? Apparently, this one. Now I have to try and find another doctor which could take a few weeks. This is so irresponsible.

He did not listen to me or my needs at all..... His staff tell me to come in as a walk in, when i get there and AFTER they take my money, he says he can't see me!!! He does not care at all

The staff at this office is the most unprofessional group of people I have ever seen. On multiple occasions they have lied on the phone in regards to appointments and services they provide. They have no sense of customer service. In total the staff at this office is horrible and is extremely unhelpful.

Dr Hawkins is a great Doctor. He listens and asks questions with consideration and curtsy. His approach leaves you feeling like he genuinely cares about you and your family. Thank you

Dr. Hawkins is an excellent physician. I have been a patient of his for about 15 years and couldn't happier with him. Over the years I have, and will continue to recommend Dr. Hawkins to anyone in need of medical care.

Dr. Hawkins has been my primary care doctor for over 10 years and in this time I have found him to be accurate in his diagnoses, open to discussing options for treatment, and up to date on information. In talking to him, you know he is aware of medical advancements and this is important to me as a patient. His staff is a mixed group and some do better than others in dealing with patients. He still takes walk-ins every day after lunch, which is convenient.

I had Dr. Hawkins a few years ago. The wait time at his office on Sepulveda in Manhattan Beach is awful. It's full of screaming, noisy kids and his staff appears burned out. As for Doc Hawkins, his bedside manner is atrocious! He walks in with a smug smile on his face and rushes through his exam. He's very condescending and patronizing. I have a new doc now. Screw him!
