Dr. Gene M Jacobs, DO

For over a decade , he hass been great for me, and helped tremendously.

I have been seeing Dr. Jacobs for at least 16 years. Sometimes he can be very point blank and does not mince words. He not only prescribes medication, he gives you many other various ways to cope with your illness. IE for starters: resources to look up, books to read etc. He always returns phone calls, which seem to be few and far between with many Drs. within all areas of practice. He has never ever been rude. I prefer the term slightly curt, but with good reason. Advice to those reading my review if you feel he is being rude, just ask him why and how it makes you feel. Don't ever be afraid to stand up for yourself with him. I highly recommend Dr. Jacobs.

I would never recommend this man to anyone. His bed side manner is awful. My significant other was a patient of his for 8 years. We have no trust in his diagnoses. Recently called to discuss an issue my boyfriend. He responded by saying, I thought you two split up. I corrected him. He realized he was talking to the wrong person. After a few minutes of discussing the problem. His made a remark, the two of you don't get along, do you? I was taken back by the remark. I responded, well if he was on the proper medication this would not be an issue..This man needs ettique on how he handles his patients.

For someone whose job it is to listen he certainly doesn't do much of it.

I wish I saw these comments before experiencing the truth in person... If you love a practice that isn't LGBT friendly and is quick to diagnose you as bipolar, this is the place for you. I went to this practice to deal with a 14 year long diagnosis of ADHD inattentive type, and he tried to prescribe bipolar medication. Stay clear of "Doctor" Gene Jacobs. He's good at talking at you, not with you. Extremely judgmental and will base his decisions on assumptions. I don't remember going to the doctor with problems with my sexuality, because its never been a problem. He's quick to assume that that's the source of my lack of focus. Also bisexuality to him is a state of indecision. So if you're straight as can be and wear a plaid shirt, I'm sure you could get a beneficial regimen out of him. He explains things cryptically, and if you challenge his brash statements he'll respond with a statement so convoluted I doubt even he can follow himself. Brash and incompetent. Staff are quick to… drop their fake smiles if you ask them to do anything that is in their job description. Don't waist your time/money/mental state at this place. I assure you can do better with a good google search. Good luck on your journey towards finding the right doctor.

Dr, Jacobs was extremely rude when I went to see him. He treated me like a criminal and drug addict and nothing close to a PATIENT!! I walked out of the office in roughly 5-7 minutes and didn't say a word nor even get out of his seat. Didn't even have the respect to give me eye contact while I was describing sensitive mental conditions. STAY AWAY!!

I have beeen seeing Dr Jacobs now for at least 7 years. Through the years I have needed his hellp with different issues having to do with anxiety and sleep disorder. . Sometimes he can be very point blank and does not mince words. At the same time, he will always , very gentley say , " Do you understand?" He has not only recommended medication . He also gives you resources to look up, books to read ,and even music that could help you. He returns phone calls ...which is a big one for me with a doctor. He has never ever been rude. As far as his appearance is concerned, he looks very relaxed , not your typical doctor . HOWEVER, the comment that he looks like someone who would do something negative to a child is a horriblle accusation to make. Shame on that sick indiviual who wrote that tripe. If you are lucky enough to have Dr. Jacobs treat you then you should also write a nice review.

I would not reccomend dr. jacobs he was very uncaring and a little rude during my visit with him. First impressions are very important and I did not feel comfortable. He didnt spend much time talking with me or asking me questions before diagnosing me which I feel is a misdiagnosis. I will search elsewhere for a psychiatrist who suits me and doesnt make me feel petty.

I like Dr. Jacobs because he is no nonsense. he is acurate with his findings and gives very good recommendations for treatment.

I went to this doctor twice so far and he is extremely rude and unprofessional. He refused to obtain or look at any of my psychiatric history files. After that he decided to start insulting me and accuse me of being on drugs when I was not at all. To top it all off, this guy looks and acts like a complete weirdo as if he likes to do evil things to children and old people. (Really please don't go there and support this freak. I'm dead serious) Unfortunately, I went to him a second time and he asked how the medication was. I told him not good and that I didn't think he was listening to me last time. So what does he do? He didn't even look me in the eye and he says to go wait outside for a moment and he never came back to talk to me. This guy wasted so much of my time and I feel way worse off from going to him.
