He is the best orthopedic surgery that I know.

I have been to just about every knee specialist in Richmond Va. Surgeons orthopedic everywhere and Not one came close to the care and pain relief I got from Dr.Higgs!! I’m seriously thinking of flying to Texas!!

Dr Higgs preformed rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder along with a bicep tendon repair, subacrommial decompression, etc. i attended pt for a year and saw dr higgs monthly. i received multiple cortisone injections, and to no avail, my shoulder continues to hurt and cause limitations. now, nearly 3 years later, i continue to suffer....got another opinion....lo and behold my rotator cuff is completely torn and requires surgery. following shoulder surgery, i developed severe left leg pain which dr higgs assured me he could do a quick fix....an it band release. i trusted his expertise and had surgery. now, not only do i have unbearable left leg pain, but i have a 5 inch scar on my left thigh. after dr higgs left the practice, i determined from another doctor that my leg pain was coming from my back...collasped disc at l5 S1.. needless to say i would never recommend dr higgs or orthova, none of their doctors helped me.

Dr Higgs is awesome...his staff is mediocre but he makes up for them by far.

Dr. Higgs made me feel at ease the moment that I met him. I knew that something was wrong with my shoulder; however, I had no idea that the issue would lead to surgery. I had researched orthopedists on line and selected Dr. Higgs because of his experience and positive write-ups. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Higgs & all of the staff members in the operating area were true professionals and made me feel very comfortable before the surgery. I have recommended Dr. Higgs to several of my friends, and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs an orthopedist. He is an A+++++ doctor!

Having three different arthroscopic surgeries over the past several years, all at different facilities, Dr. Higgs and his entire medical staff at Advanced Orthopedics provided the utmost outstanding service. His vast amount of experience regarding specific joints of the body was crucial to successfully repair the extensive damage to my shoulder. The professional, courteous, and compassionate manner of Dr. Higgs and his team is truly exemplary!

I'm very happy that Dr Higgs was recommended to me by other family members that have gone to him. I was diagnosed with two meniscus tears & bone on bone, which will eventually lead to knee replacement. After therapy & a few other things he relooked my MRI and we decided to fix the tears, in hopes it could give me enough relief to buy me some time before having to do knee replacement. Dr Higgs performed this surgery about 6 weeks ago & it did give me some relief. Dr Higgs is very professional & cares about his patients. He has a good "bedside manner" which puts you at ease & you know he has your best interest at heart. I had an awesome experience with the procedure with him & his staff as well as the surgical staff at the Schrader Rd location. I highly recommend him
