Dr. Geoffrey Stewart Long, MD

Dr. Long is no longer the doctor he used to be. Deep compassion fatigue and can be quite adversarial in covering his erroneous diagnosis when presented with conflicting facts.

I had for years had a Dr. I loved going to in Washington, DC that is until my insurance changed to KP. I was really apprehensive and worried that starting over with a new Doctor would be both a pain and troublesome but Dr. Long made the transition easy and smooth. He is caring, attentive, spends plenty of time listening to your concerns and answers questions thoughtfully. He also has a very good sense of humor and isn't stuffy at all and makes every attempt to connect with you. I miss my old Physician but I can honestly say Dr. Long has made it very easy and comfortable.

One hopes that a doctor would take responsibility for what goes on in his office. Unfortunately, Dr. Long seems unwilling to address mistakes made by his staff. Recently, his office submitted my lab tests to the wrong provider - leaving me with a bill that should have been covered. Despite numerous phone calls to the practice, neither he nor his staff would call back to address. You have to wonder how highly he values his patient's needs versus his own.

I've been going here for about 8 years now and even since I moved further away I still make the drive to go see Dr. Long.

Dr. Long makes you feel truly cared for as an individual, not just a patient. He is warm, caring, and extremely thorough. He is also committed to educating his patients.

Exceptional

Dr. Long is an outstanding physician. I use several specialists for different problems and when I first went to Dr. Long five years ago I told him I needed someone to coordinate my medical issues. He promised to read all the reports that came to him and he has done just that. As others have written, he spends as much time as needed with each patient, which of course leads to longer waiting times on occasion, but he never rushes me and always calls to follow up if there are any issues. He even calls when I request a prescription refill by phone, to double check how I am using it. He is an outstanding doctor and an outstanding human being.

Dr. Long is willing to spend as much time with patients as necessary. People often complain about having to wait at doctors' offices, but sometimes that is the mark of a thorough practitioner.

Dr. Long is a thorough and caring professional. He takes time to ask questions and talk with me about my health. He has provided excellent care for the past 15 years.

Dr. Long is an excellent physician. He provides thorough examinations, explanations, and follow-through. He listens carefully and puts the patient at ease with his friendly manner and caring persona. He spends time with you and never rushes through the examination and treatment. I am always able to get an appointment within a 1-day time period. Though there can be some wait-time (max 45 minutes for me), I expect wait-time in a doctor's office and come prepared for it, and I appreciate the fact that Dr. Long is clearly taking his time with each and every patient he sees, even if the appointment schedule is running behind. The office staff is friendly and responsive. I have great respect for Dr. Long and the care I receive.
