Best Dr ever saw him for 9 years

Nice person with good intentions but always felt he was prescribing medications as a person would throw darts at a dartboard

Dr. Shaw prescribed Xanax to our Mother who never took an aspirin in her life after the loss of my Father (married 60 years). Her primary referred us to Dr. Shaw who was abrupt, arrogant and old school in our opinion with which he liberally prescribes these tranquilizers. She lived alone, still drove and then suddenly we had a confused, sleepy, foggy parent who we had to take the car keys away. He sent her and us down a path of no return. When we tried to contact him regarding weaning her off this medication he could not be bothered. He is an AWFUL partner if you want to be involved in the care of an elderly parent. As it turns out she died peacefully in her sleep of a massive heart attack neither doctor suspected her "anxiety" symptoms might be cardiac no work up nothing. In our opinion, another case of women being marginalized as nervous anxious creatures needing to be medicated rather than evaluated. Beyond heartbroken that we took the advice of our primary and ended her… life with this dolt of a Physician.

Do your homework, interview this provider prior to making an appointment. Especially, if you are the caregiver for an elderly patient/parent. After a 3 messages requesting a returned phone call over a one week period regarding medication issues finally reached the Doctor and was greeted with nothing but disdain and attitude. Needless to say, we promptly and abruptly ended the relationship. Not a good partner if you are a caregiver. Lack of empathy and know it all attitude. No thanks.

Failed to properly diagnose, report was riddled with lies and words never said...Very disappointing

extremely supportive and kind. Helps you try to understand how to think to deal with situations in a very easy way to look at things in life. He is an excellent doctor and he has helped me through some of the hardest times.

Easy to get along with but wont return calls his staff Mary will never page him.in a emergency . He seems to favor 2 meds. He's ok but Mary is impatient he seems to favor 2 meds Cymbalta and Prozac

Dr. Shaw is a kind, compassionate doctor

Dr Shaw has very poor follow through. If you call him for help after hours don't count on getting a call back and when you finally do he is rude and condescending. I was severely depressed and didn't get better until i found another psychiatrist.

the worst psychiatrist I have ever seen. Took me off antidepressent completely without ramping up on another one. Went into a full blown deppression episode because of his recommendation.
