I went in for a routine eye exam was told would go blind if I did Lazar 1/2 chance of going blind after some Lazar visit of being left in so much pain my eye filled with blood I went blind I realized later I should have gotten a second opinion also the Lazar machine value some $30,000.00 was sitting on top of a $10.00 chair on one visit the staff told the doctor that I was dilated an was not Dr said the good thing about going blind was I can get a handiecap sticker Get a second opinion b careful

My daughter is writing this review for me as I have been blind for two years now after not receiving the proper care from Dr. Weisman. He is a nasty and uncaring person and doctor(?) and his staff follows suit. Sure his office can get you in for a visit real quick because he is losing and has lost a lot of patients. Everyone I talk to always says "what's wrong with that guy?" meaning Dr. Weisman. I think he cherry picks the few patients he wants to help as part of his unstable mental state he is in. Wonder if he has seen a good psychiatrist or psychologist to help him with his deep seeded emotional/mental problems all of which are very evident when you visit his office. His staff should be retrained on how to treat people with respect and courtesy as they all need to learn these qualities. Guess they all still work for Dr. Weisman because anywhere else they all would have been fired! Take my advice please - if you have serious or even just normal eye health issues, DO NOT go to Dr.… Geoffrey Weisman's office, Union Blvd., Holbrook, NY. You will not be happy especially if you lose your eyesight because of him. Dr. Weisman's demeanor and expertise is not conducive to him practicing medicine in ANY medical field!!

I have been seeing Dr. Weissman for over 15 years for macular degeneration and he has saved my eyesight. If you have ever been to him you will know that his bedside manner is not the best and at times he can be rather abrupt/nasty. But I continue to go to him because he's the only one that I trust with my eyes, so for that 20 minutes that I am there I can easily ignore his attitude and focus on myself and my progress. The front desk girl & the girl in the back are fantastic, she always checks up on me before and after I've had my injection. I know that I could always call them and get an appointment which is very important to me and I know that I am in the best care. And like I said if He may not be friendly but he is great at what he does, I've gone to two other macular specialists and he is the only one that was able to save my site. Thank you Dr. Weisman and staff

very odd bedside manner, absolutely no personality, would have gladly overlooked this, but his accuracy and diagnosis was questionable. Very awkward appointment. My daughters were very uncomfortable. Also, the office staff are incompetent rude people. I was owed $20 for overpayment of copays and they refused to refund my credit card. Please use anyone else. Dr. Geoffrey Weisman is the worst.

This guy is not only the worst eye doctor in the world but a nasty, uncaring, self-absorbed individual! He inaccurately diagnosed my mother's eye condition and she lost her sight! Before that I had gone to him for an eye problem and he spent very little time with me, looked at me like I was wasting his time and was rude, nasty and didn't care one bit about diagnosing my condition correctly! He put some drops in my eye which began to run and I had to ask him for a tissue which he then proceeded to throw the tissue box at me! This is only a short narrative of what this guy is really all about - he's obsessed with the Godfather movie and gets upset with himself when he sneezes! He treats his staff like garbage, which I was told this personally by one of his staff members who was almost in tears that day! STAY AWAY FROM THIS "doctor" ESPECIALLY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOUR EYESIGHT! HE'LL ONLY TELL YOU TO GO SEE YOUR PEOPLE - IF YOU CAN FIGURE THAT ONE OUT FROM THIS MESSED UP JOKE OF A… DOCTOR!!

Saw me on an emergency basis for an eye infection. Did not spend a lot of time with me (of course, he did squeeze me in as an emergency), but certainly enough to quickly and correctly diagnose the problem, write a prescription and instruct me on what I should do. Wait time was not long and his staff was courteous enough. My only complaint was that he was rather dismissive and not at all cordial...almost to point of being hostile. Maybe he was having a bad day, but because of his rather unfriendly bedside manner: 1) I would not recommend him to a friend; 2) I would not go to him again except for an emergency; and 3) gave him 3 stars instead of 4.

I was a new patient, and the ease of getting an appointment, the staff was courteous and the doctor not only helped my current eye problem but was very informative and caring. I did not feel rushed and was comforted and at ease when I left. He spent time with me explaining all my options and answered any questions or concerns I had. I would highly recommend Dr Weisman to all my family and friends!

both my husband and myself are patients. Our children, their spouses and our grandchildren also used him and continue to do so. My husband and I have been Dr. Weisman's patients for several years before he moved to the Holtsville location. We find him to be an excellent opthomologist and available when emergencies have happened needing immediate attention.
