Dr. George Richard Athey, MD

It was very difficult to get through by phone as a new patient. Once I had an appointment, things improved greatly. I asked to be placed on a waiting list for earlier appointments and received one much earlier than my original appointment. Dr. Athey spent a great deal of time getting to know my daughter. He was caring, knowledgeable and we left feeling she would be in great hands.

Like one of the PREVIOUS previews said, only go if you're a religious fanatic and if you're not a working parent who can't afford the YMCA or after school progams BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT FREE, or if you were once married to an abusive man. You'll get no sympathy from this offender doctor; his knowledge begins with religion and ends with it's all the parents' fault.

I took my son, who is autistic, to Dr. Athey. We suspected my son also had ADHD. Dr. Athey is very knowledgeable about medications and insurance issues. He was very thorough in diagnosing my son and did not push for a Dx (diagnosis) or push medications on us. He is also mindful of the fact that some meds are not covered by insurance and was willing to work with us on that when it came to the Rx. Very happy with Dr. Athey.

Kind and sensitive. Was able to pinpoint exact medication needed to help within first two visits. He presented many options for treatment and allowed us as the parents to be involved in process. Genuine interest in our child's needs and solutions.

Spent more time than other doctors we had seen. Seemed genuinely interested. Did not push medications. Diagnosis seemed more complete and accurate. Very personable. Listened to what my child had to say and really got her to talk.
