Dr. George I Beilin, BHP

My interaction with Dr. Beilin was short and terrible. I left a message asking if he was taking on patients. He returned my call and asked if I wanted to schedule an appointment. I said "Yes, but do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions first?" He said, "No" but sounded very annoyed. I asked "What is your theoretical orientation?" (This is a very common question a person seeking help should ask a therapist because the answer tells you what kind of therapy they practice (e.g., CBT, psychoanalysis, hypnotherapy, art therapy etc.)). Anyway, he says, "I don't have time for this. I expect that if you call me, you already know who I am. You can look me up on Psychology Today. I have 35 patients. I don't have time for these types of questions." Wow. So, I calmly explained that I did look him up and that I saw his specialties and I saw all the books he's written, but I didn't see his theoretical orientation. So then he says, "I'm CBT, but eclectic." Thanks for all of your… time and compassion, dude. I’m sorry I wasted exactly 57 seconds of your time. Needless to say, I didn't schedule the appointment. If he doesn't have the time to be a generally polite human being, he doesn't have time for another patient. Also, step #1 to being a good therapist: don't be a jerk.

Awful! My husband has primary progressive MS he spent my husband’s appointment belittling him. My advice don’t walk run away from this man. Not only is he not a good psychologist he is a horrible human being

Communication skills lack and poor listening skills, very judgmental robotic like with no personable skills and empathy I do not see anyone getting well or progress with this "Doctor"
