Dr. George Eric Blanco, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Blanco's for over 17 years now. I came to him when I was in my early 30's after my primary care doctor discovered I had an ascending aortic aneurysm. I had CT scans every year and follow ups with him yearly. About 8 years after the discovery, my annual CT scan showed the aneurysm had doubled in size since the previous year. He pointed me to the best surgeon - Dr. Rovin. To make a VERY long story short, between the two of them, my life was saved. I had a few TIA's after the surgery and some other complications that landed me in the hospital a few times. Let's just say every time I saw Dr. Blanco come in the room, I felt at total ease. I knew he would get it sorted out. I have always felt 100% safe under his care. I have never had an unsatisfactory visit with him. He listens to any concerns I may have and takes every single thing I say seriously - and without judgement. I will go as far as to say, I love Dr. Blanco! :)

My husband and I see Dr. Blanco. When my husband had emergency gallbladder surgery that required cardiac care (for high blood pressure), Dr. Blanco regularly visited and consulted with the other doctors. He has excellent bedside manner, is a good listener, is easy to communicate with, and is very caring. We like his approach to helping us take the best possible care of ourselves, given our coronary artery disease. We also like the office environment. It's clean. Reasonable wait time. Friendly nursing staff. We've seen other physicians in this group in the past. All are topnotch. We are pleased with the level of care that we receive and are happy patients.

I was referred to Dr. Blanco when one of your other Drs in the practice retired. He was very up front with me telling me all about Dr. Blanco. Everything that he told has come through. He is patient and takes time to explain to you what is occurring and how we can take care of it. He does not rush the consultation and is very willing to listen to you. His staff is very efficient and friendly and always willing to help. I am very happy to be a patient of Dr. Blanco.

I feel fortunate to have had exceptional cardiovascular care from Dr. George Blanco for several years. He has spent whatever time needed to fully explain my medical status including treatment and any questions/concerns I might have. The Heart Institute staff is very friendly, efficient, and accommodating. The usual short wait time is a real plus.

I had been getting frustrated with the cardiologist that was assigned to me in the hospital. I received Dr Blanco's name from a friend and am so glad I made the switch. Dr Blanco spent more time with me answering questions and offering insight to my situation than the previous Dr had spent with me during 5 appointments. The receptionist was very friendly as were the staff members I encountered. I actually got called into the back office 10 minutes b4 my original appointment time. Unheard of. I highly recommend

I went to St. Anthony's hospital with heart pains and was referred to Dr. Blanco. I was told to call his offices immediately and waste no time as this could be a VERY serious problem. I called as instructed and got an appointment 5 weeks out as the soonest appointment. I let them know that the ER Doctor thought this was urgent but they said they could do no better for me. I just went to the hospital again with heart pains and again the hospital could not believe that the Dr could not see me any sooner as I may not get 3 strikes. His scheduling staff is non-caring and the hospital should not refer patients to this Dr.

I had my former cardiologist for 10 years and had a very good relationship. When he retired, I was switched to Dr. Blanco. I found Dr. Blanco on two occasions to be argumentative and bossy, not open to discourse with the patient. He was offended when I asked questions and definitely not interested in my opinion or observations about my body. Finally was practically yelling at me. The student shadowing him that day appeared as horrified as I was. One appt., perhaps he was having a bad day; after the second appt, he's not a physician I care to work with.
