Dr George Y. Chao, MD

Dr. Chao is outstanding in his profession, he has treated me for approx. 30 years. I love this Dr. he has made such an improvement in my life and I will forever be grateful to him. There is so much more I could say about this Dr., I highly recommend him and pray this man will help many more patients as he has helped me.

Dr. Chao is extraordinary. He has the most expansive understanding of diabetes and the many related conditions of any doctor up and down the Central Valley - and probably beyond. Dr. Chao takes the time to listen to and address all my concerns, and recognizes that his patient are full-fledged people, and not just a collection of symptoms. Simply put, Dr. Chao is that rarest sort of doctor - one who has an unmatched knowledge of his field, and who also has superb interpersonal skills.

I'm from South America, and I suffer hypothyroidism. I have been treated in my country and would like to be seen here in the USA, but when I called to dr. Chao's office they said that I cannot be seen without been referred, but I think is unfair, I am willing to pay for my consultation, I do not have insurance .. Is that a crime?...I need to follow up with my treatment! I'm not asking charity I'm just asking for an appointment. Very disappointed. Sad

I feel that Dr. Chao is very knowledgeable but does not give vital information to me each time I see him. I must schedule my appointment 6 months in advance in order to see him for a follow up visit that lasts only 5 minutes. I do not feel that he is giving the time to me and then just orders more meds to work on my diabetes.
