Dr. George Hamilton Cockey, MD

My husband had him as his hospitalist. I have never met someone that was so uncaring and cold. The nurses and other staff members know how awful he is. Their hands are tied, and patients suffer. The administration needs to look at his reviews and take action. If you get him, go to Shands.

Dr. Cockey was assigned to me as my in house doctor at NFRMC. He was very arrogant and didn't listen to me at all. I would not recommend him to anyone. I wish I had done my homework before I had allowed him to be over my care.

My husband had a stroke. Dr Cockey made us cry with his bedside manner. I asked him to leave us alone and quit talking to us. He told my husband he would die within a year since he had cancer and a stroke. After asking him to stop talking he said you need to get prepared. Just a very uncaring individual. This was at NFR hospital. The nurses say he does this sort of thing all the time. He had a smirk on his face when he was talking to us. His last name fits his bedside manner.

Was seen by Dr. Cockey at NFRMC Emergency Room, exactly what I said.... seen. He did nothing except listen at my heart & lungs, and told the nurse I just needed to walk, discharge me. Did not follow the plan of care the previous doctor ordered. Was sent back to the same ER the next day by my primary care physician and was admitted to the hospital for 6 days. There was fluid in both of my lungs and around my heart. Remember EVERYDAY is a gift. Find you a doctor that cares about your well being.... if the attending doctor is Dr. George Cockey.... RUN.

His negligence costs people their lives.

This is the worst doctor I have ever had. He is arrogant, doesn’t communicate, makes errors in his charting, doesn’t answer calls and even hospital staff don’t like him. I checked out of the hospital a day early rather than remain under his “care”.

Excellent diagnostic skills and attention to detail- list need to me!!

I have been treated by Dr. Cockey and was very pleased with the treatment.

Daughter went to ER by ambulance severe stomach cramps, had CT scan.. admitted to hospital, This Dr came in morning said nothing wrong with her dismissed her. Went to follow up appointment to her GI dr to find out she had gall bladder about to explode and Hernia needed emergency surgery NEXT DAY....Her GI dr read same CT scan this dr read,,, maybe time for new glasses???
