Dr. George Pierre Dempsey, MD

Came in for a covid test - which we had to pay for. Promised in 24-48 hours. 72 hours and 30+ calls later, no results and the ONE TIME they answered the phone kept me on hold for 10 minutes then HUNG UP ON ME. Yeah, I don't think so. Too many reputable drs. This is NOT one of them. Move on...

Lucky to have such an innovative and comprehensive doctor in East Hampton. He has a regular clinic, a walk-in and has opened a very good urgent care facility. I recently requested to see a woman doctor for a problem. Really liked her. She listened, took time and solved my problem with the right medication. I like that he has a couple of different doctors working at his practice, always. And there’s Bonnie the head nurse — she is the greatest. When a refill or questions about a medication is needed she’s there with an easy phone call. She recently advocated for me, for a prescription I needed not covered by my insurance and succeeded in getting it for me, saving me alot of money. There are also interns from Stony Brook who take your vitals and go through your list of medications and health issues, leaving no stone unturned. I have been going to Dr Dempsey’s office for at least 12 years now. I’m extremely grateful for his care.

Went to this office the same day as my husband and we both received a physical. We both have the same insurance. We also are young and in good health. The "Dr." sent my husbands blood for $5,000 worth of tests for limes disease. My husband had never asked or been informed that this test would happen when he gave his blood for a physical. Our insurance covered only $4,000 of the unnecessary tests. We received a bill in the mail from Southampton Hospital for $1,000. In a panic we called Dempseys office and couldn't get someone on the phone to help us. We then went there and spoke with the billing department. He basically told us that the doctor should never have sent my husbands blood to the place she did. If she would have sent it to a place that was covered by our insurance we would have to pay nothing. ( Isn't that enough to prove that they were the ones who made a mistake?) He "attempted" to help us, which now I'm guessing it was to get us out of his office. We just opened a letter… from a collection agency in Oyster Bay stating they were coming after us for the $1,000. This is a fraudulent charge for unnecessary medical tests. Please don't go there, you never know what type of "tests" they might send your blood that you gave for a simple physical.

From the start he has been an egotistical chauvinist. He yells at patients families and belittles people and in my opinion he hates women i'm sure of it. He never has a proper diagnoses and his dogs are always in the office which is a health hazard. He never askes how your feeling and he is so into his I'm a grad of the Mayo clinic well that's not a good reference for that clinic.{what you couldn't get into Harvard} if that's the type of dr.s they produce not good, well in there defense maybe he didn't pay attention maybe is was to high. I also here half the office is leaving because he is to much of an … to deal with. now that he fired a very good Dr. he hired this Carminey women who is so judgemental and arrogant. she asks in appropriate questions and thinks she the dr of all dr.s. she is an … also you don't ask a patient how much does it cost you to go to your specialist out of town isn't that expensive, that's not her business, oh but maybe she's looking for a kick back of money… maybe she's in need. Dempsey in my opinion treats his English speaking patients like dirt I have seen it and its just not me who has seen it others I know have seen him in action and his nasty temper meanwhile The Spanish speaking patients are treated like gold this is discrimination at its finest and going strong at this office, he has dismissed quite a few American patients. I have seen this for a while and its far worse now. is he high? don't go here its not good.

Dr. Dempsey spent my entire office visit staring at his computer. He rarely looked up to address me. He read off results of a Lyme Disease Elisha test which were negative. I questioned this because I felt so bad. His response: Maybe I felt so bad because I was depressed. Or maybe I felt so terrible because I was overweight by 15 lbs. He suggested the Mediterranean Diet. It turned out I did have Lyme. I was one of 60% who test negative with the Elisha. He never listened, he really didn't care. He was on to the next. I cannot recommend him at all.
