Dr. George Kevin Gillian, MD

Dr Gillian performed the surgery on my hiatal hernia about a week ago. It included repair of my diaphragm and placement of the Linx ring on my esophagus. I cannot think of a single thing I would change with my experience. Dr Gillian is a highly skilled surgeon who offers choices, recommends his preference for how to proceed, explains the procedure in detail, fully answers all the questions you may have, and has the experience to do all of this proficiently. His staff at the Lorton office are warm and welcoming, as well as knowledgeable. Dr Gillian is The Best!

Dr. Gillian performed a triple hernia as well as had to put in a mesh lining that went from my chest to above my groin. It's day 13 and I'm almost back to normal. I have GI issues especially with anesthesia so those persisted but the operation was a success and he was wonderful, informative, patient and kind. Highly recommend him. His office staff are wonderful as well - super customer centric. Never had to wait.

Dr. Gillian performed a Hiatal Hernia repair on me recent. It went great. There was no pain after the first day and I was able to get back to regular meals very quickly. He did a great job of checking up on me in the hospital and later at his office. I have had no heartburn or acid reflux since the surgery. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Gillian is phenomenal. Truly one of the best in the area. I highly recommend Dr. Gillian. Dr. Gillian explained my situation and surgical solutions with a level of frankness and honesty I had not experienced before (I had seen many gastro MDs for over a decade). I wish I would have found Dr. Gillian before.

He is too eager in doing the surgery and fails explaining difficult and painful recovery. He needs to improve providing care after surgery and instructions on how to deal with issues after surgery. Better diet guidelines are also needed.

Dr. Kevin Gillian is the Best Surgeon in DC area. After years of Suffering from GERD, I went to see him. I chose him after looking at 4 other ones. He is the Best!! He suggested that I would need the Nissen or Linx to fix the Hiatal Hernia. I have opted for Nissen over Linx. He has fixed my Hiatal Hernia with Nissen Funduplication Surgery. After the Nissen Funduplication Surgery, I feel completely Normal and I am back to my active lifestyle. I do not feel any Acid Reflux anymore. Incredible thanks to DR. Gillian. My daughter thought she might have to have hip surgery, but instead it turned out to be a sports hernia. Dr. Gillian was able to diagnose the problem, and get her in quickly for surgery. After months of pain, in a week she was completely healed and back to sports. Dr. Gillian explained everything well. He has a great bedside manner. The surgery started early and ended early. The outpatient Hospital Center was easy. I would recommend him to anyone.

I had three hernia operations (two groin and one belly button) performed at the same time by Dr. Gillian. The pain afterwards was so slight that I needed only Advil for about a week (although I was given a more powerful prescription for pain ). It has been some 8 months since the operation and I feel great. I highly recommend Dr. Gillian.

Last week Dr. Gillian perform inguinal laparoscopic hernia repair on my right side. Unequivocally, the results are outstanding. I have experienced no pain or other complications and I'm already back at the gym doing moderate exercises. Eleven years ago, I had open inguinal hernia repair on my left side. Recovery from that surgery was painful and it took weeks before I could resume normal activities. Bottomline: Laparoscopic hernia repair is the only way to go and Dr. Gillian is the surgeon that you want to do it. He's the BEST!!
