Dr. George Griffin Hughes, MD

Only writing this hoping it will save some people. My dad has been going to Dr Hughes for 30+ years now. He goes religiously and seems to get some sun spots burned off often. I, personally, went to dr Hughes to get a few freckles checked out months ago and within 3 min he said everything looked fine… I didn’t feel like it was thorough enough. I recently told my dad that i really think he should get a second opinion on his skin with my dad being 73 years old. He went to a new dermatologist this week and they took 5 small biopsies and all 5 came back as cancer. He saw dr hughes within the past few weeks and he never caught it. dr hughes is always in a rush and you barely feel like you have any time to ask questions . I’m not trying to bash this place or doctor at all, i just want people to be seen by doctors who will actually take their time and find the skin cancer when it’s there.

I enjoy meeting with Dr. Hughes! He has helped me and my family for many years! He knows what he is doing and quickly provides help!

Dr. Hughes is a wonderful doctor. He is very competent. He took the time to answer all of my questions. I will continue to go to him and recommend that my family does, too.

If you try to make an appt. with this doctor, be aware that you have an 90% chance that nothing will be done that visit. After a 15 min wait in the lobby, I waited another 25 min in a treatment room until he appeared. He spent less than 5 min with me and told me I had to make another appt.to follow up! I went to see tis Doctor for the 2 times. I found him to be rude and insulting. He didn't listen to what I was saying and made me feel like I needed to just shut up. He was insulting to me verbally I just wanted to get out of there. By far one of the worst doctors visits I have ever had. I see many doctors usually once a week. I do not recommend him at all. Horrible.

Dr. Hughes does not do a thorough exam at all. In fact, he asked me why I was there and told him I had something on my leg was questionable as per my old dermatologist. He thought it looked fine (as it turned out he was correct) but decided to do a biopsy when I told him the name of my old dr. Dr. Hughes was in a big rush he only looked at my leg. The first time to a dermatologist you should have thorough exam from head to toe. No such animal.
