Dr, jhagroo is a great doctor but he need to change his receptionist to rude with his patients

Dr. Jhagroo is a very experienced and well mannered doctor who goes out of his way to help his patients. I was very impressed when Dr. Jhagroo gave me a diagnosis of my condition within seconds and he even gave me a machine to test my sugar level. All i can say is that he is just awesome and I gave him five stars for everything.

He is my PCP and I asked for a referral and I spoke to Rose who said she would fax it over. A couple of hours later it was still not faxed. How long does a fax take? When I called up to find out what happened, Rose said she would do it again in a nasty tone and hung up on me. Nothing else. I am going to change my PCP. I don't have time for rude office staff. I just hope they don't give me a hard time giving the new office my records. The younger girl used to be sweet. I do not know where she went but she needs to come back.

Dr. Jhagroo is a very knowledgeable and experienced Doctor. He treated my father in Guyana and now I am one of his patients. Dr. Jhagroo has a wide experience in tropical diseases and many more areas in medicine. He has helped quite a number of persons who I know personally. His staff is very kind and helpful. There are some classless Guyanese who may want to say adverse things about him but I can say that this Doctor should be given high recognition for his knowledge and speed of diagnosing patients problems and treating them effectively and efficiently. I would not advise anyone to listen to some of the low life people who has given adverse reviews. My overall rating of this Doctor is an A+ with excellence.

I like that he takes walk ins, since I am often sick. I don't like the area, but he is concerned and will refer you to the right doctor if you go for the same reason. When I was having many sore throats, we got an endoscopy that he did and said everything was good. And you don't wait long. I get through on the phones and the staff is pretty good.

Making this doctor my Primary Care Physician was a choice I made trusting his cultural background. I thought he would understand the needs of his own kind and the people in his neighborhood. It was a poor assumption.-Situated in Richmond Hill, Queens, a mostly Guyanese neighborhood. -The waiting room is a decent size for a small clinic. -No appointments. Only walkins.-Telephones barely worked when I called (a lot of buzzing noises)-Therefore, doctor will not speak to you. Every time I have called for a minor issue, he asked me to come in (Been like this for 4 months).-Office is very hot, haven't seen a fan or a A.C. anywhere. But you can see the heat on the office staff's face, they look overworked.1st Visit:Jhagroo seemed very caring. I told him some of my medical history and he seemed genuinely concerned and on my side. He said "Don't worry we're going to take care of you and get to the bottom of it."This was the representative speaking.He then *prescribed me some medicine. Watch… out for this trend.2nd Visit:Issue was not taken care of so he "ran some tests", then told me I had an "Infectious Disease" and prescribed more medicine that I would probably have to take everyday, for a long time, since the disease had no cure.I immediately asked for a 2nd opinion. He seemed to be offended as his pride was hurt. Around this point he started rushing me out of his office.Every visit thereafter:So now I have gotten a 2nd opinion that cleared me of any diseases. Do you know what it's like to go through that on top of other major medical issues? Depressing. It feels like a punch to the gut. Also, he has rushed me out of his office several times. No more than 1-2 minutes in his office chair without educating me on what was wrong or what he was prescribing. Just scribble and say "NEXT!" My very last visit I was in bad stomach pain that I told him about before. The medicine he prescribed didn't work as it was the lowest grade. I waited to be seen only to be told that the doctor couldn't see me. He said "I had to see someone else about the issue". He is a Gastroenterologist! I'm a busy man. I go to school, I go to work, I go to the gym after work. I have a lot on my plate. I don't need people wasting my time.The Pharmaceutical Company reps, with suits on, walked in and walked right out that day, as they did many others. They were moved ahead of the line since they all had to see the doctor and sell their products or, whatever. While all the sick, less valuable people, had to wait.Later on, I went outside of the neighborhood, I ran into someone who lives in Richmond Hill and knows the doctor and his type too well. This person works in a Natural Food store and has a great understanding of natural food and medicine. He immediately recognized the situation I was in and said stay away as these doctors don't care about their own people, they just want to take advantage of your vulnerability. I took his advice and I'm finding a new doctor.To sum it up:Dr. Jhagroo just applies a medical bandaid or worse, creates a new problem by not educating his patients. He has rushed me out of his office plenty of times, wrote a prescription without telling me what he was writing or why. He doesn't even care if your insurance will cover it. Not his problem, there's someone else waiting and money to make.Signed,Caring person-- who believes something is wrong with the medical system.
