Dr. George Thomas Knight

Trying to keep a long review/story to the point as a warning to others. The end result was extreme and prolonged pain, bone graft surgery, a tooth implant and a loss of hearing on the side Dr. Knight performed a botched extraction. Our whole family had been patients of Dr. Knight when he suggested I have the last pair of my wisdom teeth removed. They were located on top in the 1 and 16 position. He noted that one of them had a root that had grown at a severe angle and that it would need to be cut in half before extraction. He said he could refer an oral surgeon, but suggested performing the simple task himself in his office for a lot cheaper, saving me money, which I agreed to. The extraction did not proceed as he had stated. Instead of cutting the tooth in half, he violently removed the tooth with pliers. This cracked the tooth in front of it and pulled out jaw bone along with it. Still can't believe that he showed me the bone attached to the extracted tooth during the procedure. Even… with numbing, I was in severe pain. In about a week, he recommended and placed a temporary crown on the broken tooth until the full crown arrived. It was placed incorrectly, leaving the core of the tooth exposed and prolonging the intense pain. The temporary was adjusted with minor relief. The permanent crown did not resolve the ongoing pain I experienced in the local area, sinuses and general left side of my head. It was at this time that I experienced hearing loss in the ear located on the same side of my head as the botched wisdom tooth extraction. I did not know the cause at the time but after almost two years of CT scans, MRIs and Specialist's reviews, the immediate intense pain and prolonged exposure from Dr. Knights surgery caused a shock to my inner ear and induced inflammation of the Trigeminal Nerve resulting in eustachian tube dysfunction and a hypercompliant eardrum. After visiting a highly recommended Dentist and Oral Surgeon, I had the damaged tooth removed, a bone graft completed and an implant inserted. Pain subsided but my hearing was still damaged. I had laser surgery completed on my eardrum, am under continued maintenance prescriptions to ease the eustachian tube dysfunction and will always wear a hearing aid because of the damage and shock to my inner ear. In the end, the couple hundreds of dollars that Dr. Knight said he'd save me has wound up costing us over several ten's of thousands of dollars in surgery, testing and specialists review, out of our pocket and hearing that will never be back to normal.

Dr Knight has been my dentist since 2004 . He has since repaired all my "metal teeth" and not had a problem since. I will say this he's the Doctor I have seen the most being 53. He's very informative and explains everything going on. Dr. Knight is gentle and makes you very comfortable . I've always been afraid of the dental chair .. Trust me he'll take that away !
