Dr. martin freed me from forty years of back pain. He is exceptionally kind and a thoughtful listener.

when you walk in you get the feeling you are in a funeral home. It seem staff is trained not to smile. The treatment plan is worse, he referred me to several specialists and each one of them told me to find a different neurosurgeon. the time he wasted and the delay he robbed me 2 years of pain for no reason. FIND SOMEONE ELSE

My mother was referred to him after an MRI with contrast revealed a lesion on her brain. He told her that he thought it was an inflammation/infection on the brain, which would cure itself. He also told her to cancel the appointment she had with an oncologist to whom she had been referred, stating that the lesion was not cancer. He scheduled a new MRI for six weeks later. Two weeks after that initial appointment her condition worsened and she wound up in the ER. He stuck by his diagnosis. Her condition continued to degenerate over the following two weeks, and he finally ordered another MRI, two weeks before the one he had scheduled for her. After that second MRI he stuck with his original diagnosis, but did say that there was a small chance that it was a low grade (non-malignant) tumor. After a few more tests, and continued deterioration of my mother, he ordered a biopsy. After the biopsy he told my brothers and I that he now thought it was a low grade tumor, but we had to wait… for the lab results. It took eight days to get those results: it was an anaplastic astrocytoma, a very aggressive malignant tumor, one that spreads tendrils throughout the brain. Ten days after this diagnosis my mom's condition worsened to the point that we had to place her in hospice care. She died seven days later, never having a chance to get a radiation treatment. We later learned from the oncologist that would have treated her, had she lived longer, that Dr. Martin told her that he saw the tendrils during the biospsy and knew that it was high grade, and that the tendrils would prevent him from being able to surgically remove the tumor. The S.O.B. had outright lied to my brothers and I after the biopsy. My mom only lived for two and half months after her initial symptoms appeared. It's possible that it was already too late for medical science to have prolonged her life at that point, but my siblings and I will never know. Martin's diagnoses were wrong at every turn, having her cancel that oncology appointment was criminal, as was lying to my bothers and I after the biopsy. Martin is not only a terrible doctor, his a terrible human being as well.

Was recommended by other health care professionals. Great outcome, now I can stand and walk again pain free – got my life back.

WARNING: Be very careful with this Dr! He decorticated my husband's lumbar vertebral column from the L1-L5. After the horror of 2 unsuccessful surgeries, Dr. martin was very rude and did not want to see my husband anymore. Worse yet, my husband continues to suffer from severe pain in his back down to his legs and feet. He is now permanently disabled and unlikely to resume a normal life ever again.

The horror of hearing you need a neurosurgery can only begin to be balanced by knowing Dr Martin is in El Paso. Several MDs Recommend him, some who had already had surgery by him. The hospital surgical and icu nurses all said he is the best. Not nearly as important, he is a very nice man. If you are looking at going out of town because you have seen an ad, remember if you have a problem, if you have a problem you are not supposed to travel and no MD wants another's problem

My grandmother recently visited doctor Martin. After having some seizure like symptoms, a hospital did an MRI and found a spot on her brain. She went to Dr Martin and he informed her it was just a fuzzy spot on the film and nothing to worry about, and that she should not go to an oncologist. Fast forward two months. After another MRI they found the spot had grown, and decided to perform brain surgery to investigate it. After the biopsy Dr Martin told us it was a low grade tumor, and that she should be able to beet it easily. We later found out from her oncologist that Dr Martin had revealed it was a high grade tumor, and that the tumor had tentacles spreading through the brain. Not long after my grandmother's body shut down and she passed away. I have spent the time since wondering if my grandmother would have been able to beat her cancer if she had seen an oncologist when she had originally planned instead of waiting due to Dr Martin's advice. Over the course of my… grandmother's treatment Dr Martin ignored her when he was needed, rarely came to check on her treatment, lied to her and to her family, and gave her treatment advice to prevent his treatment I plan to write the Texas Medical board with my families story, to prevent Dr Martin from hurting any other families.

Our family member was referred to Dr. Martin when they were hospitalized with a spinal fracture. They were bed-ridden, racked with pain, unable to move at all without assistance, and feeling hopeless that they would never walk again. Four weeks after the surgical procedure that took a morning outpatient visit, my family member was walking without assistance. Dr. Martin did an excellent job and has a great bedside manner. Our family are most appreciative for his help.
