Dr. George N Merritt, MD

Dr. Merritt was so caring and thorough as he diagnosed my problem. He gave showed me exercises, gave me medicine and suggested ways to address my issue. I was very happy with his office staff who were very prompt in assisting me. I would highly recommend him to anyone that needs a podiatrist!

Be careful with this guy. First off, you'll sit in the examination room for 30 or 40 min past your appointment time. After looking at my feet, he diagnosed nail fungus on the big toe of my right foot. Without discussion, he grabbed a dremel tool and started grinding away the affected part of the nail. He ground so deep that the nail subsequently split and still hasn't healed. He's very friendly and he made me a decent pair of orthotics for about $400, but he completely missed the accessory navicular process that was causing me so much pain. I had to go to an orthopedic physician for that diagnosis. He also sold me a $60 tube of antifungal cream. I wouldn't let him do surgery on my feet under any circumstances.

I ran a race in Feb. thought I had sprained my Achilles’ tendon but it turns out I have plantar fasciitis and sinus Farsi syndrome. I got 2 cortisone shots which I did not feel at all. Dr. Merritt was absolutely wonderful, friendly, gentle and answered all my questions. I didn’t feel rushed I would recommend him to anybody and everybody, THANKS Dr. Merritt you were awesome

I was very apprehensive about my visit to have my toe nail removed after an accident. Dr. Merritt made me feel relaxed and was so gentle that I truly did not feel a thing. He also followed up with a phone call later to make sure all was going well. I would recommend him to anybody who needs foot care.

This doctor not only has years of experience but most importantly HE CARES.. Tallahasse is unusually filled with qualified podiatrists. However, this is the first man to try... TIP: Get an appointment right after lunch to minimize wait sometimes.
