Dr. George Joji Murakawa, MD

This medical practice is terrible! Dr. M doesn't listen, doesn't answer questions, doesn't explain diagnosis or treatments, he doesn't give you agency to make decisions about your own health, and he blames his mistakes on his (female) staff. I wonder if he treats all his patients like this or just the female patients? It is very suspicious how young and pretty ALL the staff are. I only saw 2 women over the age of 30. That speaks volumes! Dr. M barely talked to me before prescribing me medication. He kept trying to leave the room while I was still talking to him. I asked him a question, he shrugged and walked away without answering me! The medication he gave me was very strong and hazardous to take. Dr. M didn't discuss the medications many side effects, many drug interactions (one of which I had), risks of taking the medication (which include cancer!), or handling instruction (you are not suppose to handle the medication with bare hands!). I had serious side effects. He told me to keep… taking the medicine because the side effects will go away. After 2 more weeks on the medication I was bedridden and almost hospitalized from side effects. I went to see him about it, the first thing he said was "I don't need to hear about it" because I was just dehydrated. I told him that the Mayo Clinic website says these are symptoms of a severe reaction to the med. He told me "Everything is a side effect" and that it wasn't from the medication. And told me I could do "Whatever I wanted." WHAT?!?! I consulted another specialist. They were shocked and told me to spot talking the medication immediately because I was on the verge of having a heart attack (even though I am young and health). WORST DOCTOR!!

His staff does not listen when you call for an appointment and Dr. M. is way too fast to look at you, they switch you from room to room, wait can be long and he does not listen. I did see him 8 years ago and he did a great job on a huge growth on my foot, no scar. Today, he wants to get in and out AND has untrained staff do things that he should be doing. It is sad because he does excellent work. I will find another Dr. sadly but it will be a search.

Misdiagnosed by him, read many bad reviews, he gives many patients face antibiotic,i am alergic to antibiotic, but he still gave me 4 shots on my face, I got allgergy on my skin later he said it is a scar on my face, then gave 4 expensive acne shots on my scar,1 hour late, then see me for 10 secs, left, the nurse gave me shots and prescribe me expensive acne medicind for my scar.

he gave me wrong treatment to trick insurance company money, he checked me for 20 secs, then left, the.nurse gave me 4 acne shots to my face for my scar, cause big reaction and i.have to pay 80 dollars for acne balm for my scar. he is a.liar I already reported him to medical board and recorded what he said, will sue him.

Competent the best will return

I have no complaints about wait times, staff or office admin. My complaint is that the doctor spends almost no time with the patient. I had a squamous cell carcinoma on my cheek. I pointed it out on a visit, the doctor had it treated with nitrogen. Second visit, he does such a quick look that he passes over it. I demand that he take another look and he suggests a biopsy which ultimately leads to surgical removal. His surgical skills seem fine; I’m an older man so the minor scarring was acceptable. The reason that I’m leaving is that questions addressed to him are often met with a quip or a flip answer.

I have had chronic ideopathic hives for over eight years. After seeing numberous dermatologists and allergists, I was told to see Dr. Murakawa. He was the only one to help me get my hives under control. I highly recommend him if you have an unusual skin problem.

I like Dr. M., he saved my foot from skin cancer so I could continue to be a foot model. He had to use a skin graft but in two months it was like nothing was ever done. He has a great bedside manner sometimes likes to make jokes which people get nervous about and you can request he just concentrate and do his work. One thing my husband was upset about was when he had his skin body check, he was left standing in his underwear and many of his nurses came and in and it made him mad and the Doctor did take a long time to see him (he has a great body so what was the problem, kidding). He will not go back but I will. He is excellent at MOHS surgery and excellent with skin cancer on the face, so do not be afraid he is an excellent MOHS surgeon.
