He is board certified in Internal Medicine and infectious diseases and has been on staff at Ochsner since 1963. Dr. Pankey currently serves as chairman of the Institutional Biosafety Committee. He is a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and in 2001 was elected as Master of the American College of Physicians.
