Dr. Russell was arrogant and dismissive

I was in a horrific motor vehicle accident about 11 years ago. I had 18 broken bones. My left arm was de-gloved and crushed. I had an open compound fracture in my left lower extremity. My femur came out of my leg and was laying on the floor board of the vehicle. Dr Russel was called in to treat and care for my leg. Amputation was discussed in the beginning but my family didn’t want to make that decision yet so they asked Dr Russel to do whatever it took to save my leg. My first hospital stay was for two months. I went into surgery numerous times. Some of which were just to clean out my wound to ensure there would be no infection. Then for the next year and a half after that, I had a few more surgeries, one which included a bone graft. I was told that Dr Russell experimented on me and performed different procedures and such that he had not done before. He literally put me back together again; kind of like Humpty Dumpty!! I have a titanium rod with plates and screws; some of which are… in my knee, along with new bone that I was able to grow on each side of the rod as a result of the bone graft. All of this is what connects and holds my leg onto my body. I can only bend my knee about 40-45 degrees max due to the plates and screws but I consider myself very fortunate to be able to do that. I was not given much hope to live in the beginning and I eventually had to have my arm amputated at the forearm. After months of physical therapy and being in a wheel chair for over a year I am able to walk and have as normal a life as I can. I haven’t seen Dr Russell in several years but if I was to ever have to have anything done to my leg again I would not go to anyone other than him. I would be in a wheel chair today, unable to walk and ride horses and four wheelers and enjoy everyday life in the country if it wasn’t for Dr Russell and his expertise. And most importantly, I would not be able to take care of and play with and enjoy my grandkids like I do today. Thank you Dr. Russell for saving my leg and giving me my life back!!

Dr. Russell is that rare breed of doctor that actually listens to his patients and gives feedback. He is extremely personable and knowledgeable.

Services, testing were expedient and centrally-located for great efficiency. Sweet doctor... attentive, knowledgeable and skilled. Happy to have found this practice. Am traveling through five states to get to him for treatment.
