Dr. George Shahinian, MD

Dr. Shahinian is a breath of fresh air! We were so lucky that he happened to be working on March 9th. My nearly 90 year old Mom was admitted to Saddleback Memorial Hospital. Mom was in pretty bad shape, but Dr. S walked me through all the options and I felt that he was really invested in her. I either saw him during rounds, or we spoke on the phone daily regarding her situation. She was in the hospital for 10 days and I am certain that Mom recovered as well as she did because of his guidance and out of the box thinking. He is one smart guy!! Fast forward to mid April, she is back in the hospital, I reached out to Dr. S to fill him in on Mom’s condition and to let him know she would be coming into the ER and there he was, continuing care and helping to get her stable and back home, this time she was only in the hospital for 6 days. He has listened to everything I have said, given reasons why some of the things I ask make sense and some don’t. Last week Mom wasn’t feeling her best, I… called Dr. S and he suggested another trip to the ER. It made the most sense, the fastest way to get her on meds she needed. This time, the ambulance was diverted (without my knowledge) to Mission, which totally freaked me out since we only know Saddleback and I didn’t know at the time that Dr. S has privileges at Mission. Dr. S was expecting to see Mom at Saddleback and when he didn’t, he called to find out what was going on. I filled him and we discussed a plan for Mom’s continued care. It is possible that Mom may wind up back in the hospital one day, but I know she’ll be in good hands with Dr. Shahinian. We are so grateful that he didn’t give up on her just because of her age. My husband is going to be making an appointment to see him for pulmonology. I know he’ll be in excellent hands.

Dr. Shahanian is a very good and experienced doctor. But more than that he goes above and beyond the normal doctors. He puts the patient first.

Dr. Shahinian has literally saved my life many times over the past 10 years. I live inHuntington Beach, but I go to saddleback hospital because I don’t want anyone else caring for me. I’m in the hospital at least 6 times a year. Dr. Shahinian always treats me with dignity and respect. I love him!

I have probably engaged with 30 to 40 doctors over the last 15 years in regards to my mothers health. I've been her advocate for the entire time. Dr. Shahinian is more than just a doctor. He is a man that truly cares. His level of compassion, care, and concern for the well-being of the patient is phenomenal. Has he been my mother's doctor, but he's also been my doctor well. My experience is, that he brings a level of medical care to the table that is bigger than the norm. Should you have the privilege of being taken care of by this man, realize that you are in amazing hands.

Excellent care and giving Doctor

I've been seeing this Doctor and his equally excellent associates for over two years now. I love his calm and gentle manner with me. Spends a good amount of time during the appointment. Always available for questions, always looks beyond the obvious in finding what's wrong. As a result, I've well now due to his assistance. Also, a good sense of humor to boot!

I feel so lucky. Dr. Shahinian helped me get control of my health again. He is caring and always right on.

Dr. Shahinian is wonderful. He is very educated and takes great concern for his patients. He saw me in the hospital and now I see him for my lungs in his office.
