George Thomas, MD serves as the Director of the Weill Cornell-NYP Cardiac Device Clinic. Raised in Florida, Dr. Thomas received his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and medical degree from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Thomas completed an internal medicine residency at Washington University in St. Louis before going on to recieve cardiology and electrophysiology fellowship training from the Cleveland Clinic. Currently, Dr. Thomas practices electrophysiology as a full-time faculty member at Weill Cornell Medical College. He specializes in the treatment of heart rhythm disorders and performs a variety of procedures including: catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter; catheter ablation of ventricular tachycardia; implantation and extraction of CRT devices, ICD's and pacemakers; management of palpitations and syncope.

Dr.Thomas is not only a EXCELLENT CARDIOLOGIST. Dr.Thomas is a good human being. Dr.Thomas actually will take time to explain your options to you so you understand your treatment. He then will ask you for your questions. Iam grateful he is part of my health team.

I have been a patient of Dr. Thomas for over 14 years. I am a complicated case. Upper aortic valve sparring Dacron patch operation by Leonard Garardi in 2004, Brain coiling 2 by Dr Howard Riina 2006, Aortic Valve replacement by Dr. Karl Krieger 2007. Dr George Thomas followed and quarterbacked all electrophysiology inclusive of pre op, removal of defective lead and replacement of new Medtronic cardioverter in 2015 and will, I hope replace battery and unit this coming February of 2024. With thoracic tam as standby possible.All visits, followups, and check ups have been incredibly detailed, clear and with great personal and professional care. Dr Thomas is a gifted doctor who is always bringing me up to date with options, data and has excellent bedside manner. I was originally recommend to him by Dr. David Lefkowitz, my cardiologist since 2003. James Hoge age 66.

It was a pleasure to meet Dr. Thomas. His cordial manners made it very easy to have a frank discussion about very sensitive medical issues. He listened attentively and offer his suggestions without being pushy or lacking compassion. Displayed knowledge and recent innovations of his field. A great physician, electrophysiologist in the making!
