I scheduled an emergency eye appt. with Dr. Yanik, believing I might be experiencing the onset of a retinal detachment. He saw me very quickly the following day, did a full dilation of my eye, and after thorough examination determined that I had a large floater that was causing the visual disturbance. I left feeling relieved, only to have the symptom continue to worsen. Upon seeing a specialist in Scottsdale, I found out that I had a MAJOR retinal detachment. Dr. Yanik could have spared me the loss of my eyesight in that eye had he been accurate in making his initial diagnosis when the detachment was still very repairable.

Dr Yanik actually touched my infected eye (stye) and then touched my uninfected eye saying that stye's were not contagious. Well the following day I had a stye in my non-infected eye. Also Dr. Yanik said don't worry about this it happens when you get old (I'm 53) and just put warm compresses on it and in 4 weeks it should be better. REALLY 4 weeks!! I went to another ophthalmologist that week since I now had two infections. I was given antibiotics and was better in 5 days!!! Dr Yanik swears he knows what he is doing and makes no apologies nor accepts responsibility for giving me the stye in my other eye. I would NEVER GO TO HIM AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
