Dr. George Hyungjik Yoo, MD

I have seen Dr. Yoo twice for a second opinion on a tiny squamous cell cancer on side of tongue that was totally removed. I was able to get the initial consultation extremely quickly and his staff obtained all my records very efficiently and on time for my next appointment. Meanwhile, he ordered PET/CT and MRI, which was scheduled within days and everyone I encountered at Karmanos was awesome! He had very good news for me (yay what a relief :-) ) and answered all of my questions and even waited for me to write things down for my follow up schedule and timing through 2021. His staff was very nice and tried to make me feel welcome because I probably look like a deer caught in the headlights with everything that has happened to me since the spring. Dr. Yoo had to look down my nose with a wire, which really freaked me out and I kept moving back and wanted to run from the room but he dealt with it and was able to see what he needed to see even though I was not your ideal patient. He… helped me get through it as quickly as possible. I feel he really cares and is sure about the process and what needs to be done, or not done, to keep a watchful eye to make sure anything that may come up in the future is caught very early. I trust his recommendations. I like how he went over the scan findings with me on the computer and pointed out where things were and what it means. Thank you Dr. Yoo!

I have been a patient of Dr. Yoo for about 6 years. He is a very personable Dr. Who is great in his craft. I had surgery to remove a benign tumor & the whole process was a pleasant experience never having surgery before. Dr Yoo & staff are an awesome Group.

Extremely poor bedside manner, patient education and follow up care. Gets extremely irritated with any questions. Office staff are clueless. Have to self educate and advocate for follow up care such as speech therapy and physical therapy. Only use him for a surgeon if you your life in denial and want a quick demise!

Dr. Yoo is great. He's friendly and his credentials are the awesome. He takes time to explains things and makes us very comfortable. Tomorrow morning Dr. Yoo is doing surgery on my husband and we are very confident with him, and about as comfortable as anyone could possibly be in this kind of situation.
