I believe that they should have a completely different approach for us patients with chronic pain. I have multiple disk injuries that cannot be fixed without very risky and separate procedures, and I live with daily anguish and pain (it truly wears a person out). I am NOT a "doctor shopper", but I will NOT stay in a treatment center, where I am being treated for the wrong illness/injury... WOULD YOU?When I first asked if they treated true chronic pain, they assured me they did. lONG STORY short... 8 MONTHS LATER AND AFTER BECOMING… EXTREMELY DISALLUSIONED BY THIS PARTICULAR DR, I ASKED TO BE WEANED FROM ONE OF THE MEDS. (I TRULY BELIEVE THAT THIS PARTICULAR MED IS NOT HELPING THE NERVE PAIN. ALTHOUGH, I AM GRATEFUL FOR DISCOVERING THE OTHER MED, BECAUSE IT STOPPED THE DAILY SHOOTING, MINDNUMBING PAIN.) WHEN I [POLITELY] INQUIRED ABOUT THIS, THE DOC AND THE NURSE SEEMED TO TEAM UP ON ME AND TOLD ME TO TAKE THE REMAINING TWO PILLS AND TAKE A QUARTER OF EACH PER DAY... THIS MEANT THAT I WOULD BE THROWN INTO A HORRIFIC WITHDRAWAL THAT WOULD LAST JUST LONG ENOUGH TO LOSE MY JOB (AND THE INSURANCE THAT PAYS THEM THE RIDICULOUS FEES THAT THEY AND THE MAJORITY OF MED PROVIDERS CHARGE).NEEDLESS TO SAY, I ENDED MY LAST CONVERSATION CONFUSED, DIZZIED BY THEIR CHAOTIC & UNCALLED FOR APPROACH TO MY SIMPLE REQUEST. I SHOULD ALSO SAY THAT I HAVE PASSED EVERY URINALYSIS (REQUIRED BY INSURANCE AND FOR THEM TO BE SURE THAT I AM NOT ABUSING ANYTHING), I DID DO THE EXTRACURRICULAR THINGS THAT THEY ASKED OF ME. BUT AFTER THE DOCTOR AND NURSE TREATED ME WITH SO MUCH DISRESPECT AND INCONSIDERATION (THEY WERE SO INCREDIBLY UGLY TO ME, I WAS IN TEARS FOR TWO DAYS OVER THE WORDS AND THE ATTITUDE THAT CAME OUT FROM THEIR MOUTHS)... I KNOW THAT THEIR IS A PART OF THOSE TWO (NURSE AND THIS DOC) THAT IS IN IT TO TRAP PEOPLE AND TAP THEIR MONEY!
