Dr. Gerald John Bannasch, MD

Today about 15 years later after I met Dr in the psych ward & he gave me his diagnosis, I told him he was off course because I was a sober AODA counselor active in the field receiving awards as well as promotions. I'm still off course & looked him up because I know his diagnosis was correct. I wish I would have believed him back then. I quit the field shortly after meeting him because in my heart I knew something was wrong & sometimes it takes awhile B4 a psychotic episode occurs. For me like he said was listening to everyone else's trauma which triggered my own that my brain tried to suppress & block & couldn't anymore. I ?? that the obituary I found is not his. He indeed was a very intelligent man but sometimes people like me don't wanna hear the truth or it's suppressed trauma which at any time anything can trigger it.

Absolutely useless! Diagnosed me with VOC induced dementia, frontal lobe brain damage, seizure disorder, and has history of temporal sclerosis in a MRI that he had done on me. All he wanted to do is cover up the Scandal that we endured after we found out I was treated with hydroxyurea chemotherapy. I'm very satisfied that he is no longer on this planet! Amen

ZERO STARS. Gerald Bannash is NOT a doctor! he is a lunatic who lives in his own alternate reality. at my first and only appointment (about 10 total minutes) he was rude, dismissive, would not listen to me, put words in my mouth, called me a liar, he DID NOT review my medical history, symptoms and experiences with medication therapies before re-diagnosing me within 5 minutes of our first meeting. I've had psychiatric treatment for mental illnesses my entire life and I know myself and also how a provider should assess new patients. he is arrogant, assuming, and a pompous a** **** who will kill someone if he continues to practice. RUN AWAY- DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM THIS CREEP.

I went in for my first appointment today. I had to wait 3 months. I also wanted to say that the office switched my appointment, and never called to tell me. I didn’t see any cars in the parking lot and so I went around back. Both front and back doors have locks on them. You are not allowed to enter unless you call. Anyhow, someone showed me to the front of the office, where I was told to wait. I waited. The “Doctor” and a student walk into the office. We sit down. It’s silent. The “Doctor” looks at me and very harshly says, “What do you want?”. I started to explain the problems that I am having. He jumps upon one issue that has nothing to do with why I am there. When I asked him for some proof of his findings, he dismissed me. He was so mean. Arrogant doesn’t even begin. If you are dealing with anxiety this is one person that will push you over the edge. I haven’t stopped crying since I left his office. How can a person be allowed to become a physician with this attitude. He is harsh.… Please DO NOT waste your mental health, time, or money. This man is a monster.

While I do understand everyone’s comments about his rude disposition, his abilities and level of actual genius outshine that aspect to me. I’m not paying for a buddy, I was paying for someone to save my life and take a leap of faith when I presented him with a rare genetic neurological condition that NO ONE else would even touch. It was beyond nearly all specialists/neurologists I saw from here to mayo. Because there is no clarified course of treatment, no one would try and help stop dangerous episodes with seizure I was having constantly. He listened, and researched (with a mean scowl the whole time lol)... then agreed to try a drug being used in research. It’s helped save my life.

Walked in feeling confident about the appointment. That was the complete opposite of what actually happened the 3 times I went. He DOES NOT care what you have to say. He’ll judge you, and THEN start talking about himself. Bannasch STARES at his computer and the reply’s to you with snide responses. Please do yourself a HUGE favor and find another provider. Bannasch is a tremendous waste of time and money.

Fellow RN suggested him to me during our lunch break. I made an appointment and Prior to my first visit I research him and read his reviews. I am not going to lie; after reading the reviews which were NOT the good. I was extremely nervous and doubtful. But, When I walked into the clinic I felt at ease. I was impressed by the waiting room it had a relaxing calming atmosphere. The staff at the front desk were friendly and gave me a slew of paper to fill out. After turning in the paper work information. My wait was not long at all. Dr. Banish came out introduced himself and I followed him to his office. He has a brass rough persona about him. But, I believe that it’s just his personality. I think he is a great doctor. He was attentive and listened to my concerns. He offered suggestions and we discussed them in depth. He explained why he was suggesting certain tests that I should do - brain scan due to past MVA , Sleep study and he suggested a few vitamins Supplements that… he felt would be helpful. I have worked with a ton of doctors in my nursing career I would put Dr. Bannish in the top 5. He is extremely knowledgeable and knows his profession well. Of course it’s totally absurd to expect an answer for your ailments during your first or 3rd visit. The mind is very complex and you must be willing to understand that there is a process of ruling things out before you expect the doctor to come to a firm diagnosis. Over all I had a GREAT experience with him and I am looking forward to seeing him again to find out what he thinks of my test results. My advice to you is find out on your own and educate yourself. Just because a Dr. doesn’t tell you what you want to hear Doesn’t mean he is a terrible doctor.

My fiancée is a patient of his and I'm acquaintances with another. His "diagnoses" seem to be blaming her for all of her issues, even though any half-competent doctor should know what she faces is completely out of her control. He is also dismissive of not only her concerns and suggestions, but also those of her other doctors as if only he knows everything. Any time I've ever brought her to an appointment, he stomps out scowling as if somebody just angered him, which makes her very uncomfortable as he also carries this attitude with him during the appointment. He very much treats her as if he personality just does not like her. He is cold, rude, and arrogant. To put it bluntly, Dr. Bannasch has absolutely no business being a doctor. If you are planning on seeing him, please do yourself a favor and go see literally anybody else instead.
