The Amherst Dental Practice is a family owned practice that was established in 1987, giving Dr. Gerald Brown 23 years of experience in the field of dentistry. Dr. Brown was born in Houma, Louisiana into a military family that traveled all over the world until settling in Falls Church, Virginia. He graduated from Annandale High School and The College of William and Mary, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in 1986. He practiced for a dentist in Oakton, Virginia for one year and then moved to Winchester where he established his private practice.
Dr. Gerald Brown received his fellowship for the Academy of General Dentistry in 1996 and then went on to receive his mastership in 2000. This required over 1100 hours of continuing education.Â
He enjoys participating in Marathons and Ironman Triathlons as well as many other shorter distance …events. Dr. Brown strives for a healthy lifestyle and loves cooking for his entire family. He currently resides in Winchester with his wife and three daughters. The entire family places high importance on community involvement. They volunteer countless hours to support local charities like The Free Medical Clinic, The Lurrel Center for Women and Children, The SPCA and The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival. They also like to travel and spending time together as a family with their 4 dogs- Neisha, Bitsy, Lola and Maggie, a recent rescue from the SPCA. Â
