Dr. Gerald Michael Korsten

Both my sister and I have gone to Dr. Korsten's practice for over 14 years and have never had a problem. The staff is kind and have an amazing sense of humor. I would highly recomend him for kids of all ages.

He is absolutely horrible. He has no patience for kids with any anxiety and then he butchered one of my daughters permanent teeth telling me he was "making room for her other teeth". Avoid this dentist at all cost.

Dr. Korsten is a great dentist. I started taking my kids to his practice when they were about five years old and now they are teenagers. Dr. Korsten saved us A LOT of money in braces, because he took proactive dental measures. Dr. K had my oldest son in a retainer and then spacers to prevent him from needing braces. I TRUST Dr. Korsten.

My children and grandchildren have been patients over the past 30 years and have never been disappointed. He is extremely knowledgeable and his staff is very well trained. They can do what are know as expanded functions and are amazing with the children. They office may not be the fanciest in town but they treat the kids as they would their own and that mean a lot to me. They are actually thought of as individuals not numbers.

My son was 18 months at the time he began to go to Dr. Korsten. Everything was fine until I noticed very subtle dark spots on two lower molars (child age 3 by this time). I brought these to the Dr's attention and was told they were nothing. After 2 more months, they appeared to be getting darker, went back and was informed after X-rays that these were cavities and crowns would be needed. Spent several thousand to get these fixed. A year later (4 years old now and a checkup in between), found another dark spot on another tooth. The Dr. said there was nothing to be worried about. We went home, called another dentist and had a second opinion. Guess what? A cavity. In fact, a couple more. Since the cavities on these teeth were too deep, they had to have a crown. I'm extremely disappointed that Dr. Korsten blew these cavities off. Both of the crowns that Dr. Korsten had originally put in are now having to be pulled out of my son's mouth (2 extractions). Extremely disappointed in his work.

I went to Dr. Korsten because my son had an abcess. My primary dentist recomended that I see a ped. dentist. On our first visit the assistant examined my son and she found 4 additional cavities. NOT the dentist the assistant. That should have been my first clue to RUN. Dr. Korsten then examined my son and recommended a $638.00 procedure. Fine, I thought my son was in good hands. On the day of the procedure, I asked if any X-rays were going to be taken? The assistant responded "We don't X-ray kids this young" He is 4 1/2 and had already had x-rays done at the primary. Then I asked if they used nitrous? "No we don't do that here" My son is great when having anything done if he has gas. Well from then on my son was scared and they had to hold him down to get him numbed. When the dentist did get to him after 20 mins and the assistants were very RUDE, my son was freaked out and crying and all the dentist could do is sigh and shake his head. He did nothing to try to soothe my… son. The assistant were no help either. He said he would have to do the procedure in the hospital and put him out. The cost for ONE tooth; $4800.00. Like I would pay him a penny for his so called professionalism. Steer clear of this dentist. I had my primary take care of the problem and had him check for the cavities. There were NONE.
