After being diagnosed with an admittedly minor skin cancer I was given the option of surgery or radiation. Because of the need for some reconstruction if I chose the surgery I opted for radiation and was referred to Dr Lucas. Even though I had a minor skin cancer Dr Lucas and his staff have been treating me 5 days a week for 4 weeks and have made me feel like the most valuable, important patient they have. I have a number of other medical issues, a pace maker, heart disease, and more joint and orthopedic injuries and surgeries than I care to relate. Suffice to say - I've met a few doctors and dealt with their staffs. Dr Lucas and his staff are the most pleasant, warm, concerned, and caring medical professionals I've ever had the great pleasure to deal with. In reply to the moron who wrote the review "Bummer". I was actually in the office being treated and I had to put up this idiot's constant complaining. I know it was him because the idiot would come in with a cane and… demand the use of a wheelchair and continually would, with great volume, complain about being treated like a piece of meat. In his review he admits "to wit: I am 85 but difficult".. No kidding. Dr Lucas does NOT deserve to have to spend his valuable time dealing with morons like you, yet he does, BECAUSE HE CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS EVEN WHEN THEY ARE STOOOPPIDD! Apparently this guy is still in his anger phase of dealing. I reiterate - Dr Lucas is one of the most caring, warm, genuine people I've ever met! It absolutely refreshing to find a physician in today's environment with his passion for helping patients.

REVIEW FOR 2222 HIGHLAND FACILTY---LUCAS The medical industry is the most venal, pompous, arrogant business in the US. This industry thrives on taking complete advantage of the most vulnerable people. Ethics and morals have long ceased for these Trolls and Cretins. $$$$ is all they care about.  You have the big C. You are pretty stressed out. Go to get help, right? The word compassion is spelled out on the front door of this joint. The only compassion you will find is in the dictionary between CANCER & CRAP. The doctor, Lucas, must have been trained by Torquemada and Vlad the Impaler. His care and personality fall somewhere between a limp handshake and a cold dead fish. When told of his staff's rudeness he basically shrugged. However, good news, costs only about 50K for this horrendous treatment. Thieves and snake salesman is an understatement.  I, obviously erroneously, thought that an appointment was a plan to meet by 2 people or more in the future. Silly me. Lucas' group of… surls has another definition. You do exactly as you are told you piece of meat, you number that is here only for our financial enrichment. Five tratment dates were set. I never heard word one about any of them. One appointment we missed I never knew about. We received a schedule on our first vsit. A bit late to do any plannming. Scheduling is done eith only optimim use of their golden goose machine. NOTHING ELSE. Both I and the machine are viewed as annuities.  IF YOU HAVE ANY SELF RESPECT YOU WILL AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE IT IS! To wit: I'm 85. but difficult. I use a wheelchair. My wife is 81. They give you a wheelchair but no one to wheel it. That is unless it is to their advantage. The staff is malicious, rude, inhospitable and ineffective. Two robots told me I WAS RUDE because I would not do exactly as told. They have chips on their shoulders as big as the Empire State Building. They have no idea who is to be served or who is paying. I did tell them off. However, who needs this extra surl with one's other pressures? The Greeks said there is no greater sin than HUBRIS. A very special place is provided for those who cause so much suffering to others because of their hubris. I feel certain that these people will go to that special place as they deserve to. Meanwhile, we pay for the sins of an amoral industry taking full advantage of what it is to be a monopoly. Fight it as best you can my fellow sufferers. Go elsewhere, it could not be worse.     STRONG LETTER TO FOLLOW!

Dr. Lucas is pretty good, but his PET technician is awful. Just a really mean person. The scan was so poorly done I had to repeat it at a different office.

Dr. Lucas is the best. I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1995 and Dr. Lucas was thorough, and explained my treatment in detail. Thirteen years later after a recurrence of breast cancer I sought out Dr. Lucas again and I have been cancer free since 2009. I highly recommend Dr. Lucas as a competent, caring radiation oncologist.

Although there are many places I'd rather be visiting on a daily basis had my choice, the office, staff and Dr.'s at a AZ Oncology were terrific and I felt very fortunate to have been in their care.
