Dr. Gerald Harris Pitman

Dr. Pittman is an uncaring doctor. Infection was horrific after the surgery and I’ve been suffering with the scars ever since. That’s what I got for $23000. A nightmare.

Dr.Pitman understood the cosmetic and functional aspects of surgery as well as my goals, expectations, and desires. I felt comfortable bringing up questions and concerns to him, discussing in detail the procedure and what results were to be expected. He took time to explain the possibilities, risks and benefits of surgery. We analyzed my pre-operative photographs and he was able to show me graphically his intended results. He understood anatomy, function, aesthetic and beauty of the nose. Because I emphasized to Dr. Pitman that I wanted an improved version of my nose that would be very natural looking, he planed to create a natural looking rhinoplasty result, ensured me that I was comfortable with my decision and answered all my questions. He was thorough and paid attention to detail. His staff was very nice as well.Dr. Pitman made phone calls and wrote a letter to my insurance to explain that there was a medical reason to have nasal surgery (deviated septum, difficulty breathing) and… made sure that the insurance covered the anesthesia, facility, and surgeon's fees. Surgery was in an accredited surgery facility; this conveyed my safety. His bedside manners were excellent. His technical skills were superb. My healing progress was monitored. I had follow-up visits after surgery on a very regular basis. The recovery period was painless and uncomplicated.Dr. Pitman delivered the result that I wanted. The changes are extremely subtle, but they have occurred. Dr. Pitman produced a nose that looks great and I can breathe through very well.

Dr. Pitman was very professional and took his time to explain the procedure and end-result options.His staff followed up promptly and were equally professional.The anesthesiologist called me prior to the procedure and explained everything to me. I found this to be very comforting.I was amazed that I did not experience any pain post-surgery and only needed Tylenol for mild discomfort. I could not be more pleased and have experienced a dramatically positive lifestyle change due to this surgery.I have recommended Dr. Pitman to a friend who had an equally positive experience.

Saw Dr. Pitman for an upper and lower blepharoplasty. I really wanted the procedure, but was incredibly skittish about actually having surgery and going under the knife. I didn't go into this lightly. I read everything I could get my hands on and spoke with several people who'd undergone the procedure themselves.Dr. Pitman is a consummate professional. He isn't warm and fuzzy - but his nurses and support staff more than made up for that. They quickly answered all my questions and sought Dr. Pitman's counsel for anything they couldn't address themselves.I arrived on the day of surgery calm and completely informed about what was going to take place. Better yet, they'd given me great pre-op information, so I had all the necessary medications and tools ready post-op. The actually procedure itself was a breeze - as was the recuperation. Nine to ten days, as expected, and I went back to work the following week with a little concealer on some residual bruising that disappeared a day or two… later.Now that it's all said and done, I'm thrilled with the results. My eyes look amazing, and I no longer look tired and drawn. Yet the results are incredibly natural. I also find I'm getting a lot of "you look great" compliments - though I can't help but laugh cause these people have no idea that I've had this done. I just look like myself - only better. I should mention that three of my friends who've all had blephs with other doctors, have all commented that my eyes are the best they've seen. Even better than theirs.... And that's when I know it was the right decision - and the right doctor.

I am Dr. Pitman's patient for a serious of procedures to remove excess skin resulting from my loss of 200 pounds. He has performed a circumferential abdominoplasty, and I will have additional procedures to other areas of my body. It is worth noting that Dr. Pitman was recommended to me by my orthopedic surgeon after I had bi-lateral knee replacement. He was very impressed with Dr. Pitman's skill, and by the fact that Dr. Pitman contacted him to talk about their mutual patient. His exact statement was that "Dr. Pitman is the real deal." I couldn't agree more. In addition to being very happy with the results of my surgery, Dr. Pitman and his staff are professional, considerate, and helpful. . Dr. Pitman makes the overall experience as easy and efficient as possible, including common sense practices like taking photographs at his facility rather than sending patients to a third party. This is a small thing, but an example of a practical approach to the overall endeavor of having cosmetic… surgery that makes sense. I feel that I am receiving the highest levels of medical expertise and skill, and excellent customer service.

My experience was good. Dr.Pitman is professional and his staff is friendly and kind. I would recommend Dr.Pitman to friends and family. I would use Dr.Pitman again as my surgeon if another procedure was necessary.

I had liposuction with Dr. Pitman for my hips and thighs. He came recommended to me by various sources as the best lipo guy in NYC. I have to say, this MUST be true. I found both him and his staff to be extremely professional, caring and meticulous with every detail of the pre and post op surgery. Honestly, what most impressed me was when I walked into the operating room and Dr. Pitman was the person helping me (with a nurse) get ready for operation including putting the circulation booties on me. I thought this is a doctor that truly cares 100% for his patients and is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure everything is perfect. I would and have been recommending him to people if they are considering any kind of liposuction. Plus...the office is lovely!

Highly recommend Dr. Pitman. He is very thorough; explaining the procedure clearly. Staff is polite and accessable if you need them between appointments. Follow up visits have been the same - (unlike other doctors who are done with you after the surgery).
