I met Dr. Gerald Polin in Richmond, VA in 1985 my first year in Virginia. Dr. Polin took me under his wing & to this day I am still in the Medical Field because of him. He & his wife treated me like their own daughter. I'm not a pet lover but somehow I began house sitting for their dogs (LOL) I would refer my whole entire family to him. Dr. Polin is the best chemist I have ever found for my son. He always takes the time to check on the "care giver" as well as the patient. I would not consider going to any other doctor. He is truly a gem. If there was a rating higher than 4 stars I would use it.

I was one of Dr. Polin's patients several years ago. He blatantly misdiagnosed me in an attempt at profit, put me on a dangerous medication not approved for use in anyone under age 18, and essentially forgot about me when the chance to turn a profit passed (but left me on the medication, essentially unsupervised). I have dealt with the effects of this treatment well into adulthood. Run, do not walk, away from this man.

Has a habit of milking your insurance dry without doing much for the child as well as over diagnosing with more serious or "popularly" publishable, perhaps profitable conditions. Check out his history with Psychiatric Institute of Richmond, just ask him about it when you're able to see his reaction.
