Dr. Gerard Edward Farris, MD

He was very professional and caring the last time I saw him in the ER but it has been a while since I have seen him. Unlike many doctors today he did not question me when I told him I was in a lot of pain because I deal with chronic pain that most people will not be able to see. He never denied me pain medicine when I need it because he looked at me one day and said I know you are in pain which says a lot because most doctors could care less. I don't know how he is today with patients because it has been a few years since I have seen you but with the DEA all over doctors about pain medicine then I know it can be difficult to treat a patient who really needs the medicine. He always knew when I was going through with my various surgeries and it did not take him very long to get someone to get me pain medicine or to do the right thing when I needed to be admitted to the hospital. The last time I saw him was a few years ago and he was actually the head of the ER but I do not know if that… is the case now. I have been in need of a family doctor for a long time and I've always wondered why I could not find one that has great bedside manner like Dr.Farris it is very much of a shame that so many doctors out there don't know the first thing about bedside manner but it is high time that they learn about caring and listening to their patients because it makes all the difference in the lives of people who deal with anything ongoing such as pain.

Took daughter to the ER for a rash, fever, etc. This "doctor" told us he was "stumped" as to what was wrong, but that it was "nothing to worry about". Well, upon follow up with her pediatrician it was determined she has Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Nice going there "doctor". Couldn't be bothered to draw some titers?

I just was there at the right time1 No wait. Northeast ER is newly remodeled and everyone was on they toes. Dr Farris was so kind and assuring. So thankful for doctors like him.
