Dr. Gerard L Guillory, MD

Dr. G. is an excellent physician. Most doctors treat the symptom. Dr. G. is concerned with getting to the "root cause" and helping the patient cure their diseases. I've had chronic illnesses in addition to multiple autoimmune diseases that have improved considerably and are now manageable. In addition, I love that he offers nutritional counseling, light therapies, and other innovative options for his patients. He's caring and personable and I would highly recommend The Care Group.

I found Dr. Guillory after searching for a physician who understands thyroid disease, and would treat it properly. Someone who does not diagnose and treat based on the TSH, but who would support optimal levels of FT3, and FT4, and who understands all of the necessary tests that should be run. Dr. Guillory is a functional medicine physician, so his approach is whole body wellness. His specialty is IBS, so be prepared to spend money on natural supplements, and to change your diet if necessary. I am pleased to say, that Dr. Guillory has brought my thyroid function up close to where it should be, after several years of poor treatment under another doctor. We're working on a few other things, that will hopefully bring it up to optimal levels. The supplements he sells seem to be very good quality, and have for the most part, worked very well. He does not seem to be intimidated by well informed patients, which seems to be a rare quality in a physician. My only complaint, is that his… office is quite a distance to travel to, but for optimal health, is something I'm willing to compromise on.

What a greedy insensitive place. I had car trouble on the way to my appointment. Instead of just letting me reschedule, they want to charge me $75 because I didn't give 24 hour notice. It's unprofessional and not very customer friendly to charge a new patient that under the circumstances. I was planning to reschedule and take my entire family there but we will take our money elsewhere.
