Dr. Gerardo Solorio-Cortes, MD

If you can afford it, I would recommend that you seek care elsewhere. He ordered a whole bunch of test and imaging on me, subjecting me to pain and risks, that were not evidence based and my insurance would not cover them and now I am stuck with the bill. Go to someone else.

Dr Gerardo Solario is the greatest. He is so encouraging to me. I have numerous health problems that cause alot of pain yet with Dr Solario's care I continue to work full time. As a caregiver for over 20 yrs, Dr Solario has kept me happy and healthy. and I am just 74yrs young planning on many years with Dr and clients!

If you notice in the doctor's summary, He has insufficient experience to handle a variety problems. He is a very basic doctor. He can check your blood pressure and take your temperature he reminds me of a nursing assistant.

My first visit with him was satisfactory the second visit I had to wait half an hour in his office then when he did come in and 5 minutes later his assistant came and got him he was gone another 10 minutes. When he came back he seemed preoccupied. I told him of a problem I had and I requested an MRI. He told me I had to wait 3 months that there was a backup. I am in considerable pain and don't feel I can wait 3 months. I requested he refer me elsewhere for the MRI.He refused saying he could not refer me when the procedure could be done there. He did not seem to show legitimate concern for my problem. He has not called to see how I feel if it has gotten worse. He is too inexperienced to handle my health condition.

He is one dr that has great pt care

I met Dr. Solorio Cortes while in the hospital for an e-coli sepsis infection. His bedside manner was very comforting and he took the time to explain what was going on. He also listened to me and showed genuine concern for my care and me as a person. Over the four days I was in hospital I developed a good rapport with Dr. Solorio Cortes and decided to make him my PCP. It is a bit more difficult getting through to him through the maze of administration at VMC but he is concerned and willing to learn more about my condition. I highly recommend him if you need a primary care physician.

Overall the Dr. does a great job. Always willing to listen to anything I say, so I understand if he runs late. I figure someone ahead of me needed his help. But I do wish it was easier to leave messages for him if I had a problem that didn't need a trip to the office. But that is how Valley Medical works, he did not design office procedure. I find him friendly and compassionate.

I give Dr. Solorio high ratings because he always spends extra time at the beginning of an appointment asking questions and trying to determine my overall health and well being. He has spotted several issues that I didn't think were serious but which, in the end, turned out to be worth investigating. My only complaint is that it is difficult to get in touch with his office other than to make an appointment (e.g. for questions, early test results, etc.)

I would never recommed Dr. Cortes he does not listen to you. He forms oppions in his head and does not listen to you.

Dr. Cortes does not always listen to what your saying because hes already got is mind made up Once he lays out what hes going to do for you, he dosen't do it. He just leaves you hanging.
