Dr. Geri Lynn Bacu, MD

I have just started my treatment regimen with Dr. Bacu. My first concern is that I am on a state funded insurance program and getting approval for some of my treatments can be a hassle. Secondly, she is the only rheumatologist in my network who is close to where I live. Despite hearing a few reviews of her “bedside manner,” I went for my first appointment. Yes, she comes across a bit stern. She doesn’t care much about your medical journey as she does your current state of pain and/or condition. She is fact driven, number conscious and searches for the root of the issue. I have asked several personal questions about my current condition and she has 100% direct and forthcoming. THAT is what you need from a doctor. Dr. Bacu is professional and takes your improved health seriously. I appreciate her no nonsense attitude.

I went to Dr Bacu after being referred by my pcp. I had a popular insurance but still called to check that they took it and was assured they did. Once I arrived and was in treatment, Dr Bacu decided she didn’t want to mine bc she didn’t think I could afford my copay because I was young. She actually yelled at me in her waiting room. She was extremely dismissive of my symptoms, extremely rude in general but the worst was when a medication she gave me made me ill. I worked an hourly job and asked for a note because I had to miss work to go see her about the medication. She told me no and that it’s my problem, not hers. She also told me to just deal with the vomiting with the medication. She also regularly told me I was too young for the pain I was experiencing despite my tests linking it to lupus. She was just awful to deal with as a patient and I recommend staying far away from her.

She is one if the best doctors I ever went to. Seems a little hard but she is concerned an she cares. She spent just rush you in and out like sheep. She takes time and will get results right Cheryl howaed

After reading the reviews I wasn’t sure what I would get when I met Dr. Bacu. She and her staff were competent and answered every question completely. She was very nice and seem to really know her stuff. I would recommend Dr. BACU

Dr. Bacu took time to make sure I understood what she was saying and course of treatment. She was very kind.

I agree with the previous review. I have found Dr. Baku to be direct, efficient, and concerned...which is what I expect and appreciate in a physician. As I always say, I want a doctor, not a new friend. She makes certain that her diagnosis is accurate and confirmed by lab results.

Dr. Bacu is a pretty rude physician. My experience with her is that she doesn't care to actually listen to you (I complained mostly of my back and neck, but she only ordered bloodwork and X-rays of my hands...) she rolls her eyes, seems really rushed like she doesn't want to be there nor bother to help you at all.. Oh and she is a pill pusher. All she wanted to do was give me lyrica and send me on my way. When I complained about the awful side affects I had from lyrica her nastily said back to me "what do you want me to do about it?" Also, when asking about therapies like what she thought could help, she seemed very annoyed that I was even asking any questions. If you actual want to be treated like a human being and to get help with your condition, do NOT go to Dr. Bacu.
