Summary
I am Gerri Porter-Pinson. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I have experience with several different types of therapeutic interventions including cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy and many others. I provide individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. My goal as a therapist is to meet clients where they are, to assist them in recognizing distorted thinking patterns, and to teach them how to challenge distorted thinking. Other goals include teaching clients effective coping skills and encouraging them to transfer those skills when faced with life stressors. Last but not least, teaching clients to recognize their success and to celebrate that success with them.
