Dr. Ghassan K Bejjani, MD

Had neurosurgery on my neck and during my surgery, my daughter saw Dr. Bejjani getting food to eat while she was at the snack shop. Assuming I was out of surgery , my daughter called and asked the nurse when did I come out of surgery, and the nurse told my daughter I have been in surgery for about 45 mins and still had a ways to go before going into the recovery room. My question is, who was performing neurosurgery on my neck in his absence, because PA's are not legally permitted to perform any part of surgery other than stitching up at the end. I met no other surgeons prior to going into surgery. I was told Dr. Bejjani and the PA would be the only people in surgery with me, other than the OR nurse, nurse anesthesist, and occasionally the Anesthesiologist popping in and out. I was in surgery for almost 3 hours. Post op, I was admitted and went home 2 days later but the first night in the hospital after surgery, I was in so much pain. I find out the following morning that I was… ordered 2 different pain medications, one IV every 2 hrs and the other by mouth every 4 to 6 hours. I was only informed of the by mouth pain medication and given that through the night. I was crying and in so much pain and the nurse never offered nor informed me I had a stronger IV pain medication I could have been taking being the by mouth pain med had little effect on my pain. To summarize, I am in more pain 3 months post up, than before my surgery, and instead of only 3 fingers on my hand being numb prior to surgery, the entire right hand is numb after, which, at my 30 day post up Dr visit, Dr. Bejjani tried to tell me it was from carpal tunnel syndrome. Funny, prior to surgery he informed me the numbness of my fingers was from the pinched nerve in my neck. Numbness is not affected by turning the head left or right with carpal tunne, while mine is significantly affected by this. I don't know what happened during my neck surgery or what physician, if any, I was left with in Dr. Bejjani's absence to get a snack to eat, but something went wrong as I am so much worse off now than prior to my surgery. I have been a RN for over 25 years so I know what to and what not to expect post op. Being disabled now is not an expected outcome of the surgery I had on my neck. Do not go to this doctor. Look his name up and you will see he has been involved in law suits, etc. I wish I had never gone to him for my cervical radiculopathy

Broke a bone from my Spine, and Dr. Bejjani removed the bone. Great doctor, plus his staff are also wonderful people, especially the lady at the front sign in desk, she is an Angel with kindness.

I have been a patient of Dr Bejjani for over 19 years. In that time he has performed 8 Brain surgeries in the Left Thalamus. This is a very difficult location to work and he has always done a great job and I come out with flying colors. I am so grateful to this doctor for what he has done for me and would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs his help.

Dr. Bejjani performed two surgeries on me,(1.on my lower back L4-5, bone spur, 2. on my neck C3-4) and both were successful and full recovery with abilities to do things I couldn't do before. Caring and understanding. Great doctor, I've been his patient since 2006 in Pittsburgh and in New Castle since 2014. Only complication was an allergic reaction to medicine after surgery.

Truly a great Doctor.. very warm, kind, confidant and goes a hundred miles an hour, but welcomes your questions and has time for you as a patient. Very knowledgeable, great surgery skills and makes one feel secure. Very organized office.. staff is wonderful with the exception of one lady whose name begins with a "C". There is always one is every office! If you can overlook this ladies rlack of people skills, you will love the entire staff that are fabulous!

He walked in, said I had back problem. Stayed about one minute. When I tried to question him, he gave short answers and headed for the door. Worthless appointment.

Dr. Bejjani is one of the very few doctors around that has some in depth knowledge about a Chiari Malformation. He has been the only doctor that treated me as a person with a real condition and that its "not all in my head" as many other doctors will say when they don't know how to treat a Chiari patient. I do not have to have the surgery yet, but with Dr. Bejjani's vast knowledge about Chiari and his extreme kindness, I will certainly call on him when I need to get the decompression surgery.

Dr. Bajanni is a wonderful Neurosurgeon. He first saw me on a Thursday and preformed a Cervical Spinal Fusion surgery on me the following Tuesday. I was in very bad health when I first came to Dr. Bajanni. It has been 3 years and my health has been restored thanks to Dr. Bajanni and his team. Amazing Doctor and wonderful team. Thank you for giving me my life back.
