Dr. Gilberto F Gastell, MD

Dr Gastell's office staff is very poor. They do not treat the patient or family with any respect. They have no problem hanging up on patient on the phone. They accept too many patients in the office with long wait hours. My mother needs to have her blood tested weekly and after being a patient for decades they are not helpful and the doctor does not call back. Very bad doctor and office, no humanistic qualities at all. Admin staff the worse in the field.

I've been with many many doctors with my mother throughout NJ but nothings beats how disorganized and unprofessional this office staff is. Appointment time means NOTHING. You will wait minimum 4h!!!. Staff at the reception desk is so rude especially one older lady with an accent. Totally rude and unsympathetic. If you have private insurance or any insurance go to somewhere else. He is also an average mediocre doc that needs to retire.

2009 to 2014 I was physically fit skinny muscular eating healthy low carbs but mainly veggies I day in the gym three hours then in 2015 I develop swollen belly serve muscle atrophy excess thirst lack of urination serve fatigue I still force myself to workout I keep gaining weight and losing muscle mass in 2016 I became prediabetic I cant hardly leave the house I started going to dr gastell office I make appointment to see acenet torres nurse serverly accusing me of overeating cookies and pizza because the of my swollen belly I explain iam in a diet she misdiagnosis me with psychological disorders give me referral to dietian because overeating which has nothing to do with my symptoms which is being ignored refusing give blood test iam not allow to recheck abnormal blood work it consider normal she tells me having diabetes is consider normal she creating her own false information about me she tell me she not going to help me I started seening dr gastell he acting same way when he… walking in the room iam talking to him I explain I was physically fit since 2009 then develop swollen he not even looking at me then he accusing me over eating lasange and icecream rice size of my belly refusing to check for medical then he catogorize me with chronic fatigue syndrome which is misdiagnosis my real symptom being ignored I notice recording false information or creating his own symptom about me he tells me my prediabetes is normal refusing to give medication and blood test

From start to finish worst experience. Appointment mean nothing to Dr. Gastell or his staff. At least 6 walk-ins before me. After 4 HOURS of waiting for Dr. gastell, he quickly exams me and gives me prescription. He doesn’t explain what is wrong or how to use meds. I will never go back to him, let alone take any meds he prescribed. If I could give him a -0 star I would.

I have seen Dr Gastell few times, but my mother was his patient for over 20 years until she passed away with him at her side and closed her eyes. I could write a book about all the wonderful things my late mother used to say about him, in my personal experience and all the compassion and care he always showed while treating her, is only one thing to say he is a wonderful doctor and a very kind human being , may God keep blessing him with lots of years of great health to keep going in his practice.....thank you Dr Gastell

Dr Gastell has taken care of my mother and father for many years. Recently my mother was put in a nursing home and I (her daughter) had to reach out to him to coordinate care. He rarely returns calls. My father called to try to get him to switch a medication and said my daughter is concerned.... he responded if your daughter does not like the way I am treating her then you can find a new doctor ! meanwhile he had her on a parkinsons medicine that she had not even been diagnosed with. Said he has over 1000 patients .... Well Dr Gastell my mother is one of them and you get paid to handle her care and answer queations from family especially when someone has dematia and can not ask the questions themselves. I would not let this guy treat my dog after his comments and unprofessional bedside manor. Think twice before going to him for anything.

Doctor is great ! I ove his attention and the way he takes care patients !!!!!........ The stuff are horrible the service is so -ooo poor you waiting time is 6 to 7 hours You guys things is fair no control on his appointment. ..... what a mess !!!!!!!

This doctor is a fake, don't go there, in addition you have to wait a minumum of 3 hours, and if you should end up hospitalized he will not see you. He should be a politician because he toots his own horn, he will aleays tell what a great doctor he is, trully pathetic.
