Dr. Ginny Elisabeth Barton, MD

Love Dr. Barton, she is the first (I've seen many Gyno/OBGYNs) to accept that I don't want children and treats me with respect about the decision! I won't see anyone else!

After getting the diagnosis of cancer, it would have been nice if there was someone else there that I could have ask more questions. After all, I am not a doctor & know very little about cancer & treatment options.

I was referred to Dr. Barton, and when we first met her, she was so good. Easy to talk to, answered questions, and took time to talk during our visits. This was our first child, and I was advanced maternal age. It was during or around the third trimester that things started to change with her. She was not as detailed and was dismissive. Her bedside manner started to falter. When I was 37 weeks along, I went in for a usual check up. During this appointment my blood pressure was not going down...and they checked it more than once. We were told to go to the hospital for monitoring. So, we went up to Labor and Delivery at Harton. Once there, the blood pressure issue was persistent, so they admitted me, and then eventually started Pitocin. We were unaware coming from the doctor's office that anything like this MIGHT even take place. So, I went from a normal appointment to being in the hospital. Dr. Barton came in around the time I was to start pushing. And then immediately after having our… son, she disappeared. A few hours later, I was losing a lot of blood, but the nurses didn't know where it was coming from. I was moved to another room and was then given blood. But, that too, went out. I needed more blood. Dr. Barton evidentially didn't tell the nurses that I had a hematoma, a very bad bruise. By the evening the day after having our son, the doctor on call (Dr. Bennett) came in to see about giving me a DNC. (An ultrasound had been completed that showed what they thought was material left over in my uterus.) I was rushed to surgery and Dr. Bennett discovered the hematoma. It was not that I needed a DNC after all. He called Dr. Barton and asked her if she knew about this. She thought she had fixed it. So, Dr. Bennett completed fixing what Dr. Barton was supposed to have done. I ended up spending over 24 hours in the CCU department before being moved back down to Labor and Delivery. Dr. Barton came in while I was in CCU to check me. And then, I remember her being in my room in Labor and Delivery at the end of the ordeal. I was released after being in the hospital for over 4 days, several units of blood, and plasma. And this was all because Dr. Barton didn't communicate. Seems her own agenda was more important than to make sure about the condition she left me with on that Friday night after I had our baby. No, I don't recommend her. I am left now with doubts as to her true doctor knowledge and abilities. After being released, I have not and will not return to Dr. Barton.

First visit went well. Was advised of meds for yeast infection. Even after explaining could not take pills, not sexually active so no internal probing allowed, no wands with cream meds inside. Was also advised to take birth control pills for bad periods. When trying to pick up meds found out the meds were far too expensive. Called back to office to inform of issues. Dr. Barton herself came to the phone and as I tried to explain she stated she might have to force speculum exam, Pharmacist did not know what they were talking about. Medication given before exam had far worse side effects even though the medication did help. There was just only one way, her way. Presented good argument for request for Diflucan but Doc. refused. Patient tried to take meds but it made her tongue and throat numb. Medication used internally made her have great discomfort and pain for a day. Pain meds worked for cramps far better and less expensive than birth control. Now we are getting serial electronic calls… from office to make another appointment. :( Sorry. I really wanted D. Barton to work for us but not a good match. She is probably a great Doctor but a few more years experience might alleviate the robotic responses without experience that patient needs to be confident in getting the best care possible.

I like Dr. Barton; however, the scheduling is awful. The wait times in the office and trying to get in an appointment both are very poor. She was sincere and good about answering questions. It was always just very rushed...every time. Even my 6 week check up after having my baby I did not have time to ask questions, nor did I get checked and I felt like things were not healing properly. I know she is busy but it did not make me feel good as a patient. Sadly, I am switching OBGYNs.

March 2017 My first time going to doctor Barton she was nice , after my exam she said if your pap comes back negative I'll call you , if you pap comes back fine we'll mail you a card . So I wait & wait , no card , no call . I send them a message via their online portal & one of the employees said I called you . How can someone lie like that ? Doesn't she know I checked my cell phone bill ? I have a detailed list of my phone calls incoming & outgoing . Why couldn't she just have said no sorry I forgot to call ? Own up to your mistake ! Well here's something else that's happened this is now September 2017 , I had a mammogram come back showing they found something back in February/ march , my primary doctor first looked at it & then I asked Dr Barton's advice about it , Well the doctor said when you go back for your mammogram recheck in October we will make the appointment for you . So I get this letter in the mail from the hospital so I call to make my own appointment, they said you… already have an appointment ! When was Dr Barton's office going to call and tell me this ? I can't read minds !!! The employee who has this job to make appointments & call patients does not seem to care about her job or the patients .

Orders too many tests without explanation. Must have missed class that explained that organs are attached to People!
