Dr DeSilva Southwick is an amazing surgeon, doctor and person. Diagnosed me first visit and did what no other doctor up until then had, performed successful resection surgery and no bag and out of pain. She and her staff and the Cleveland Clinic in Weston are top notch in patient satisfaction and just good people.

Couldn't ask for more! Very thorough, caring and extremely accurate in all aspects of my care. She followed up with me whenever I needed something and I'm thankful she became my doctor.

I was in a hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida with a perforated bowel. A General Surgeon was eager to cut on me and " get this problem corrected" and he scared me. I wanted a specialist, so I called Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida and explained my condition and within 5 minutes of my call, Dr. Da Silva herself called me and said she would accept me as her patient and would arrange for my transfer. Long story short, the General Surgeon would not release me, so I signed out AMA (Against Medical Advice) and my husband drive me to Cleveland Clinic. I checked in at the ER and within 5 minutes Dr. Da Silva called me and said her team was there to accept me. I was taken straight in and admitted. Dr. DaSilva was in my room at 6am the next morning with blood results, CT results and my treatment plan. She and her team talked to me and my family and answered all questions. She never seemed rushed....it was as if I was her only patient she took so much time. I had diverticulitis… with a perforated bowel. Surgery was scheduled and the IV antibiotics began and I was monitored until the infection was under control enough to perform surgery. The perforation was small, so not life threatening. Surgery went well and she spoke with my family and her team walked with me from recovery to my room. Throughout my stay, Dr.Da Silva and her team were always just a phone call away and would be there if I needed anything or had questions. She and her team were great!!! As for the nurses at Cleveland Clinic.....most were horrible!! One talked to herself and cussed a lot. Most were very rude and unprofessional.

She was very attentive and thorough.
